As there is a similar thread for Jan, I thought I would start a thread for Emma. I know there is an Emma and Darren appreciation thread but I thought I would start this thread due to the upsurge in anti-Emma SCD fans on this forum.

IN MY OPINION, through watching the dances so far, I would say that Emma is the best dancer and think that her relationship with Darren only helps.

Emma has not had ballroom training before, and as to the fact that she shouldn't be so nervous performing in front of people, every one of the SCD contestants have worked in front of large audiences, ie a sports player or presenter, so my point is that people cope differently, some better than others.

According to all those people who suggest that she is dull, I would absolutely disagree. How can you call someone dull just because they don't like to publicly comment or insult other people, surely if we had more celebs like Emma, it would be a lot better. But why do you think she was nicknamed Baby Spice? She has a nice, innocent side, but also a naughty side (evident through watching Emma in interviews such as in her recent Paul O'Grady interview.) And her dancing is anything other than dull, the quickstep was pure elegance and she was so sexy in the jive. I am sorry, but in comparison to Claire, Emma is way way way above in the sexiness stakes!

I am just worried that because Emma has been near the top of the table both of these last weeks, and that in general there is an anti-Spice vibe in this country, people will not vote for her. However, as we have seen with Spoony, this will have no reflection on her dancing ability.

Good luck Emma and Darren, and as long as you continue to be the best dancers in the competition, I will continue to support you and vote for you!

Yeah, Emma and Darren are a very promising couple. I love the way Emma acts out a dance with her facial expressions and always has a smile. Darren's rather lovely too (sorry Lilia )

So far in the competition, Emma has proved to be the best dancer so far, so I'd like to see her go all the way!

I like Emma. She seems like a nice, normal person but unfortunately that always gets translated into 'boring' and 'bland', which IMO is unfair.

She is a good dancer with a lot of potential to get even better. You can see by her performances that she always tries her best.

... Spanner in works time.....

Don't think we need to give Emma a break, cos she is getting plenty from the judges.

Emma has a lovely personality and to be fair, has done nothing to deserve criticism. So what if she's had dance training? So has Louisa. Surely that's an incentive for the rest of them to go out there and prove that even those from a non-dancing background can win. Best of luck Emma and Darren xxx

What the judges think & how they mark seems to have no bearing on the audience vote, look at Spoony going too soon & us having to watch Fiona - she made me cringe for too many weeks last year. (This year I can Sky+ & FF all the mingers/cringers - yeah ).
If Emma is the best dancer & that is a matter of opinion I know, then I hope people vote for her instead of thinking "oh she'll be alright the judges love her".
I love her & Darren, they are my fave's as far as dancing is concerned, so far but there may be an outside runner that improves so much they'll get better than her & then my vote will change.

As quite rightly pointed out, the votes cast by the judges do not neceessarily corespond with the votes cast by the public, a la spoony. And, the marks awarded to Emma and Darren so far have been well deserved.

Hmm, anyway, think people are losing the spirit of this thread. It's about saying supportive things about Emma, there are plenty of other threads to criticise her.

I can't wait to see her and Dazza on ITT tonight. They make such a sweet couple!

I'm a little sick of all the 'anti' Emma on this forum, too. But it happened last year too in relation to Zoe. I honestly don't know why there are some who need to be so nasty. It's not like they know these people personally and therefore have an axe to grind. I have always ascribed to the saying 'if you can't say something nice about someone, don't say anything at all'. It's all very well to criticise dancing ability (although I think Emma is doing just fine - as is Louisa and Carol and Ray and Mark - all of whom I also like) , but some of the comments just go way over the top and start getting a little personal. No wonder society is the way it is when people can't even be polite about someone on a forum. (There are ways of saying things without being nasty).

Forums are for discussion - yes, but I don't think there's any good excuse for some of the comments I have seen on other threads (not all of them, obviously because there are some reasonable people about, however, occasionally someone will go way over the top for no conceivable reason). It actually says more about the person uttering the remark than it does about the person they're criticising.

Unfortunately, however, tar sticks and people start to believe what they read on here as gospel - which is dangerous. Say something too much and people get taken in and start wondering if there isn't some truth to it. And it makes things very unpleasant.

Just thought I'd say how much fun Darren and Emma seemed to be having on ITT yesterday! Who said there was no chemistry between them?

I just wished Clauds hadn't asked Emma about her nerves again. It seems that Tess and Bruce and Claudia are always asking her about it so she has no choice but to talk about it.

I felt that this thread needed to be revived! Emma seems such a lovely personality, who truly does not deserve all the critism people give her! It is not her fault that Craig loves her sooo much!

i haven't read every post on here, but so far haven't seen anything anti-emma, it's more anti the judges and she's unfortunately tied up in that through no fault of her own - same goes for louisa. i have nothing against either of them, and nothing against the spice girls

Thank you, but there is nothing wrong with my hearing.

So, do you think Georgina's dance on Saturday was better than Emma's a la Len.

Well it looks like the pros and celebs are noticing things as well. Brendan mentioned both her over marked foxtrot and her being Craig's obvious favourite...

It does need to be adressed it is becoming VERY obvious how special Emma is to Craig and it will count against her with public votes.

I think she was already on a risky side with the public as she does have a degree of dancing experience (yes I know it's a different kind of dancing!)

It would become very embarrassing for if she left the competition early whilst promoting the single with all the SCD dancers!

I agree that there has been a lot of anti-emma vibe but don't agree that her relationship with Darren helps, I think they don't really have chemistry at all and think that is something they need to improve on!
