updating Ipod
I have mislaid my nano. I know that it is somehwer in th house and that I will find it eventually. I just can't be without ot in the meantime. I have things on it to help me concentrate etc. I have been thinking of getting the new nano as I would feel happier with a back up anyway. The question is if I get a new one this evening can I just plug it in and down load my library ir do I have to register it in someway?

It'll ask you something along the lines of, "This ipod isn't registered...blah blah blah...Do you want to share your itunes library?" To which you say yes.
Easy. Hope it helps.

How big is your house? Surely you could just have a look for it?

Thats not what happened to the wife!
She's been using an iPod Mini for a couple of years now so obviously has iTunes installed. She was in the USA last week so bought herself a new 30gb iPod Video. Plugged it into the cable the mini usually attaches to, started up iTunes and ..... nothing. Didn't recognise it, didn't pop up any messages, didn't do anything. Tried it on the other PC and iTunes managed to blue screen it (it is an older PC and not the most stable in the world). Reverted back to the original PC and in the end I just left her to it but I think she had to uninstall iTunes, re-download and install it and attach the new iPod to the new version. By the time she came to bed I think she at least had the PC recognising it but she hadn't managed to transfer any music onto it yet. iPods ..... simple eh! Last player I got (not an iPod .... wouldn't touch one with a bargepole! ) I just plugged it in, dragged some music and films (no conversion required) onto it and that was that.Apple, schmapple ..... You never know, you may get lucky and it just works ..... |

It's not the size of the house its the state od untidieness. My brother was coming to stay and I piled all the stuff that was in the spare room into another room and whilse lugginf boxes and bags of clothes about, It yanked from my lanyard. It is somewhere in that room, in amomgst all that chaos. I am so dependant on my ipod, don't know how I managed with out it, that I'm glad I have a spare. I aslo find the battery life a boon. When the old one turns up it will be my back up. |
