Thats not what happened to the wife!
She's been using an iPod Mini for a couple of years now so obviously has iTunes installed.
She was in the USA last week so bought herself a new 30gb iPod Video. Plugged it into the cable the mini usually attaches to, started up iTunes and ..... nothing. Didn't recognise it, didn't pop up any messages, didn't do anything.
Tried it on the other PC and iTunes managed to blue screen it (it is an older PC and not the most stable in the world).
Reverted back to the original PC and in the end I just left her to it but I think she had to uninstall iTunes, re-download and install it and attach the new iPod to the new version.
By the time she came to bed I think she at least had the PC recognising it but she hadn't managed to transfer any music onto it yet.
iPods ..... simple eh!
Last player I got (not an iPod .... wouldn't touch one with a bargepole!

) I just plugged it in, dragged some music and films (no conversion required) onto it and that was that.
Apple,schmapple .....
You never know, you may get lucky and it just works .....
