Did you watch Melanie C on ITT? Why does Claudia keep having these acts on the show when we could have more interviews and gossip. This hefty girl cannot carry a tune in a bucket and I use the word tune in its loosest sense. I for one am fed up with people shamelessly using ITT for a bit of self promotion. It should be about the dance.

Who would have thought that Emma Bunton being on SCD would revive Mel C's career? Was she on to support Emma or to plug her "live hits" DVD? I put the sound off when she was singing after a couple of very dubious notes.

And wasn't she the one in the Spice Girls who could sing?!

why didnt i think of that? sound off would have been an improvememt. I don't know about support for Emma Bunton. I didn't know they were that friendly. I would say you are right about the plugging. After that performance it will only be Emma who will buying it.

I have quite taken to Emma as a person, she seems nice, non-diva-ish and keen to work hard and learn from her professional. I couldn't fault any of that. Plus, surely she must be a better singer than Mel C.!!!! Can't see that Melanie C was on to support Emma = hardly said anything about her at all. Just on to promote her cd surely!!

Why don't they stop all this pop/actor/tv/author self-promoting rubbish. We could use the time much better surely!

p.s. Please don't take it out on Emma that Mel C was on - it's not her fault.

She seemed more bothered that Spoony had gone out!

Look, they've got to fill weeks and weeks of ITT shows with something, so they've got to take every guest that they can find!

Surely people wouldn't be so shallow as to not vote for Emma just because the annoying Mel C was plugging her latest sub-Top 40 single?!

My 6 cats ran out of the house SCREAMING when Mel C started "singing"! and I was not far behind them,.....

I've got cats queuing up outside the back door to join in with Mel C. And they are in tune!!

My dog joined in with her, and was actually more in tune!

I went off Mel C when she had a go at Steps for being 'manufactured'.

Please don't think I'm dissing you C graham....but how old are you?...really I would like to know. I understand you may not like Mel C, the Spice Girls or their music....but to say you actually HATE them!!!! ...what have they ever done to you?

I am not crazy about Emma but she is trying to revive her career and is showing some talent. Mel C cannot sing and is a fashion disaster plus she comes across as a complete phony.

Emma appears to be the only one with a bit of normality out of all the Spice Girls. The rest of them will shamelessly plug themselves at the opening of an envelope and a flash of a chequebook.
waynebird

too true - Emma looks quite normal for an ex Spice Girl and isnt displaying the mania of say Posh, whoops sorry I mean Victoria. Certainly Mel C did Emma no favours by braying on ITT but we won't hold it against her. My money was never on Emma anyway. There is only one Baby in my book and that's Baby from Dirty Dancing. She could dance.

I would like to start by saying thankyou to all those
people who have taken the time to see the light that the shameless celebs peddeling there tat are just ther to fill time that could be better off spent on the dancer/show.

Westlife, lighthouse family, meatloaf, then mel c, next week we could end up with the chipmunks peddeling their christmas album.

Not forgetting the latest celeb who will be in to talk about SCD oh and there new book, I think Billy has a new book out. Oh and I see Christopher Biggins is in panto again, what a mouth watering line up to come.

i like mel c as a person but not as a singer, and why was she wearing scary lycra leggings?? really not pretty...
waynebird
25-10-2006
it would take a Kate Moss to carry off scary leggings - and certainly not in purple. they are a fashion made for girls to humiliate themselves. Who says designers have no sense if humour?

"Tattooed Spice" seems to have lost what voice she had. She shouldn't have sung "live" 'cos she can't, she was "flat" for a lot of the time and it was an old rubbish song of hers. I think it's sad that she has to "cover up" to hide all those ugly tattoos she has. Can you imagine her looking like that at 50?

I think the BBC believe combining this with TOTP2 ("past it" singers section) will attract a wider audience. Some "suit" at BBC probably thinks the "Spice Girls" and Mel C are still popular. Emma Bunton wouldn't be in this if she had much on last month and the next couple of months .

We're not getting much training coverage as I believe they are all training in mostly, different locations and the BBC are too mean to send out camera crews to cover it. Letting somebody plug a dire CD is the cheaper option.

had a good laugh reading this thread ALL the celebs on the show have some AGenda for being there not only the phony guests who are on the show

I personally would have liked Craig to critique Mel's performance. I think I pressed stop in the end.

I'm hoping that the producers, directors of ITT are taking note of how fed up we all are with the trotting in of pop hawkers.

We the Strictly audience are far more impressed by Anton, Ian etc than the likes of West life and Mel C.

I felt there was a little more footage today than on previous episodes, so maybe someone out there is listening to us ?

Mel C was only there to plug her CD and I would prefer that SCD nightly show contains more interviews with the actual contestants of SCD not guest stars who are only there to do their number and make money!! Actually I thought she sang very badly and was pretty awful but I switched off after about a minute as I was so irritated at the awful waste of time she was. Give us more of the rehearsal halls and interviews. That is what the audience is interested in. I do not care to know about Mel C's opinion on anything quite honestly and she CANNOT SING for toffees!!

And i thought Mel C was meant to have the best voice in the spice girls, no hope for the rest of them then.
I agree, enough of the 'celeb fans' trying to promote their latest wares - its not the paul o grady show. More dancing please!
