Am I alone...

I don't mind Emma Bunton, but she's no Jill Halfpenny...

I actually think she was over marked on Saturday. Her jive wasn't up to speed and she made a mistake but Craig and Bruno seemed to go over the top...

I'm so please Louisa got higher marks. That's the speed a jive should be done at!!!

Yes, I think it's definately too early to be giving such high marks...

A jive can only be danced to the speed and beat of the music. Louisa had a faster track of music, so obviously her jive was faster. Not saying it wasnt better though!

i'm totally with you emma doesn't have the spark jill had specially that jive!

None of the jives were as good as Jills, but you can't keep comparing with something that happened two years ago. That said, I do wish they were not marking so highly right at the beginning of the series, the judges and dancers have nowhere to go when that happens.

I agree too they were overmarked. Especially the 10 from Bruno (and I thought Louisa's Jive was really good but no way deserving of a 10). But come on when you compare to the other Jives (Georgina, Jan, especially) then it was heavenly. I was really looking forward to the Tangoes but didn't really like them (Spoony controversy aside)....and I agree with Craig the poor music choices spolit it for me

That's true about the beat, but then the beat should be fast. There's nothing worse than a plodding jive...

I so agree... The tango is one dance, where is should be danced to tango music. The other types of music just don't fit.

I think Emma has a very good chance of being very good in this competition - and hopefully having a wonderful dance experience - with some dances being better than others.

I have watched Emma's jive a few times and I think she made the mistake because she was a little ploddy throughout the jive and was a little behind and flat in the footwork, this is why she was unable to complete the move. A more serious mistake than the "she just tripped".

However, I accept that her body and arm position plus her ability to perform covered the problem better than the other celebrities who also had problems to cover.

No, you are quite right. I am so fed up with the contrived marking that I don't even bother to record SCD any more if I'm out for the evening. Viewing figures are a bit down too. What a shame.

NO you are not alone, Emma was positively salivated over by the judges in week 2, for a dance that was not as brilliant as they said, to me anyway, certainly Louisa was better, if anything I thought Carol was on a par that week.

And last week as everyone on ITT is taking great pleasure in pointing out NOW (bit late though) she did make some errors, BUT the judges on the night were almost licking her little dance shoes, falling over themselves to say how wonderful she was, which she wasn't.

ITT does seem to be able to get hold of Mel C a little too often to 'show support' for Emma and not flog her new cd.

You know if I didn't know better I could think the BBC are contractually obliged to keep Emma in or be achingly positive about her for a certain time.

To be fair to the judges Hamlet77, Bruno and CRH did point her mistake but applauded her for carrying on regardless. Something that Spoony fell down on when he smiled and gave the game away when he got the head turns wrong in the Tango. As for the overmarking....if I were Louisa I would have a word with Bruno post haste. It was his overmarking that turned the public against Zoe Ball last year

Well OK, but as Len is the only judge I really listen too, I could well have missed the negative comments.
