Sam Mitchell's Exit
She's been gone a year and she left illegally to Brazil. So other than the episode that was shown after her exit when she hadn't been down to sign at the Police Station, whey haven't the Police shown any interest that someone on bail has done a runner?
Part of me would like to think that when Grant moved to Portugal, Sam couldn't run from her demons and handed her self in. For all we know, she could be inside serving time and not have told Peggy. That way she could return in around three years time, and under believable circumstances. |

She couldn't move anywhere with an extradition policy. Not believably anyway.

The storyline doesn't have any meaning because the police haven't even paid a visit to the Vic to question Peggy and Phil or anything

It's soap though- who expects continuity?

It would have been great if Sam got sent down and Chrissie could have escaped. But in usual soap the villian must always get their commuppance!

I agree - it would have been much better if Chrissie had escaped (especially as its now fairly unlikely that she will return anyway), and Sam went to jail - a real miscarriage of justice that would have had quite a dramatic impact.

Soap villains almost always come to a sticky end; however. Filth and Grunt's just deserts are long overdue. This pair of armed robbing, murdering, wife beating bullies deserve an extremely sadistic and slow - but welcome- death! |

But I'd love to see Sam return one day, looking happy! |

But I'd love to see Sam return one day, looking happy! Besides which, if she had just got on with her job in the chippy (the only fitting plaec for a Mitchell), then she would never have been sent to prison for 3 months. The fact is she tried to outplay Chrissie. If she had been really altrustic in intention she would have gone to the police *straight* after Den was murdered. Instead, she *tried* to use Zoe to get Chrissie to hand the Vic over and failed. She got burned, full stop. And for that alone deserved to spend some time in prison. She only started feeling remorse when she realised there was nothing sh could do, and had been outclassed. She never really cared about seeing justice done, her guilt was motivated by selfishness. Bottom line, she was totally outplayed by Chrissie, and when you play the game you should expect to suffer the consequences if you loose. But being a Mitchell (as some has already pointed out) she doesn't have to suffer any consequences. |

Sam's exit could have been better, her departure didn't live up to the hype at all

The episode were sam loast everything was spectacular espicially becuase no one knew what was going to happen or that it was even planned.
Sam could easily return in 2 years after secretly serving a sentence in Brazil. She was a great character. |
