Hi, I purchased a nokia 6270 from DigitalRev back in january this year (i think i asked where to find games/tones for it on here around that time)

I sent the phone back because they where refusing to refund the £40.77 i was charged for import tax and had the cost of the phone and postage refundedat the start of february this year.

Today i got home to a familiar package waiting for me on the table, i hadn't ordered anything so i couldn't think what it could be, when i read the address i could see it was my writing on the front with my writing on the back saying if undelivered please return to....!

I opened the package in confusion as i hadn't send any packages for months and saw that it was the nokia 6270!

I don't know how and i don't know why but after all these months it has been returned back to me unopened.

Anyway, i have tried to start the phone but its asking me for a security code, i have tried the nokia preset of 12345 but it wont work, i don't remember changing the code before i sent it away for my refund so i am wondering if i haven't and digitalRev have reported it lost/stolen because it hasn't gotten back to them, is there anyway i can change the security code manually without being able to get into the phone?

I have asked a member of the forums here to check if the phone has been blocked and hopefully it wont have been.

It's a shame i can't get into it, it's been a long time since i've seen the phone and really want to use it again.

Any help or suggestions would be fantastic

Thanks
Mcflyer

Programme for removing handset lock on BB5 handsets not service provider useful if you have forgot your lock code.

Install SIS file on memory card and run in offline mode.

then run app on PC and it will generate unlock code

I can't do this. i have tried to connect the phone to my pc but because the phone isn't fully started the pc can't find it, so i can't install anything onto the memory card.

ive just had a look on web and it seems this s/w only works on s60 series nokias and yours is s40 series

i think you will have to get someone to do it by hardware or take it to service center who usually charge about £10

When i bought it it came sim free so if i was to ring a network would i be able to ring any network to get it reset? I could do it that way but because it was sim free and not locked to any network i'm not sure what to do.

Thanks for all your help ram33, it's much appreciated.

the network could only give you the puk code for your sim card - not the security code
it needs to be connected by cable to hardware to have it reset back to default

Is that possible with the usb that comes with the phone? If does anyone know where to get the hardware used to reset the code back to default?

Thanks.
