Samsung Le32r73bd
I think I've finally decided on this TV. The package at Currys with a dvd recorder and glass stand unit looks great at £1000.
Does anyone have this model and have any comments. Someone siad that Samsungs can't be turned off - can only be put in standby - is that true ?? |

My dad brought the 40 inch one of these last week its vgood much better than i was exspecting i have never had a lcd before but im considering getting the 32 inch one, the only thing that puts me off it is its color black, silver would be better for me. Not sure about weather it turns on and off at the front though i havent tried looks to have an on/off button though.
Edit: It cant be turned off at the tv it can only be put in standby but he said it has an option in the menu somewhere to be able to turn it off but he hasnt found out how to do it yet. Last edited by bekko2006 : 26-10-2006 at 17:57. |

I've just ordered the LE32R73BD from currys website, using the discount codes mentioned in other threads. £611.10 delivered (which will hopefully be on Tuesday next week)!!!

We have the 26" version and is a fantastic TV. It can only be set to standby, but the manual does suggest that you simply unplug the TV when away for long periods i.e. holiday's etc...
I haven't found anything in the menu yet but if anybody else can offer any advise that would be appreciated. |

No, I'm more than happy to share them. Here goes:
Put the following codes in the 'promotional codes' box on the basket page. Click 'update basket' after each one: 218711CFP - This gives their best 'price-matching' discount; PRICE10 - this gives an additional 10% discount. If this doesn't work, there are other 10% discount codes - YOUATWORK1, SPECIAL10, PR71006, PRICERN02; PRFREEDEL - gives you free delivery. If you use all three, this should bring the price down from £849.99 + £20 delivery to £611.10 delivered - a saving of £258.89, or a fraction shy of 30%!!! Note: The CFP discount code works with most items - simply enter the 6-digit product code, followed by the letters CFP. Discounts vary on different products. Note 2: Several people have reported having orders cancelled, presumably for misuse of codes (although they blame lack of stock Thanks to the members on both here and AVForums for supplying/finding the codes! |

Codes are available online. On the currys site, the discount code is the 6-digit product code, followed by CFP.
So, for the LE32R73BD, the code would be the product code for that product (218711) followed by CFP, hence 218711CFP. For the LE32N73BD (which has a product code of 140715) the discount code is 140715CFP. It really is that simple (let's face it - it'd have to be pretty damn simple for their staff to understand it )The discount for each item varies wildly - some items have 30 or 40% off, others nothing. You just have to try. Chances are if it's a newer product, there'll be less discount. |
