NEW Crossroads
Are all the same characters i.e. hotel staff... still in it, apart from those who left at the end?

They have VERY similar story lines! Just before Crossroads went again, Phil and Nicola killed somebody, and tried to hide the body in the woods.
And look what happens in episode two... |

So what has happened to Phil and Nicola then? I can't see any mention of them in that press release. Is the story going to be dropped completely? (How can it be if Kate is still in it?)

Call me cynical, but now they have recast the actor that plays Scott, instead of being a 12/13 year-old now he will be a 16 year-old sleeping with every girl in the hotel.

Sorry - I misread your posting! I thought you said he WOULD be a 16 year old sleeping with everyone! I thought Scott was one of the better actors. What a shame! (His mom was one of the worse though.) |

Jane Gurnett in temporarily?
From the press release (linked several posts above) it seems that Jane Gurnett (Kate Russell) will only be in the show for a short period. She mentions coming back to see the character through to its 'logical conclusion.'

Jane Gurnett
Jane's a wonderful actress, I just hope Yvon Grace doesn't waste her talent. I'm really looking forward to seeing Anne Charleston again who is another great actress.

She also says, can't remember if its in the press release or one of the interviews - that she will be in the thick of the action soon enough in the series, which is good, because away from her family she is a great asset to the show! |

I think the reason that the main characters are only signed up for a year is because ITV have only ordered a years worth of episodes from Carlton, obviously this will be extended if the show is successful.

My fears hark back to what happened to Jane Rossington in the last incarnation of Crossroads. Of course, the holes in the previous plot always alow for Jill Chance to return .... Originally posted by eggieuk The reason they are signed up for a year is that almost all the soaps have actors with yearly contracts as the writers/producers don't want to keep paying them if they run out of storylines and want the character to be axed. Don't read anything into this.

Tony I wouldn't be surprised if she does jump ship - she has already filmed a guest appearance for the new series of 'A Touch of Frost' with David Jason, & her talent lies in straight drama. Crossroads can hardly be described as this ! |

I wonder what the theme music will be like? Will it be completely new or will it be an arrangement of the original Tony Hatch music?

Crossroads Theme
I think it's the same music but it's been recorded by the Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra to give a more Orchestral theme. Apparently it's very good. Crossroads always did have a good theme.
