BBC Electric Proms, BBC 3
Paul Weller's on now. He's just done duets with Amy Winehouse and Carl Barat.
Now he's doing Broken Stones. Very good. Last edited by leeroybrownfors : 26-10-2006 at 22:52. |

Yeah, the same gig has been on repeat all evening!
I've been waiting to see the Jamiroquai gig, which is supposed to be on - but there's been no sign of it, and I can find no details anywhere on the BBC of what time it is (or perhaps was) being shown. |

I went to that gig last night. Fan bleedin' tastic it was too
Last night was a blast. There were quite alot of middle aged men in fading Fred perrys busting moves that hadn't seen the light of day or public display since around 1982!! Gawd bless 'em. Weller was on excellent form, he's still got it. Amy Winehouse, never really paid much attention to her before, always seemed like a bit of a gobby moaner, but she's a very talented young singer and wow what a voice. She looked like a stick insect with a crazy black birds nest of hair on her head ( sack the stylist Amy love) but has a voice straight out of the blues Delta. Her and Paul did I Heard it Through the Grape Vine and an old blues standard Don't Go To Strangers. Carl Barat was really good too. Duetted on Peacock Suit and then took lead vocals on In The City ( that was the cue for the men standing behind us to start movin' and a grovin'). Richard Archer from Hard -Fi was alright; but it didn't really matter that he didn't sing that well because he got to do That's Entertainment and 'TubeStation with us the crowd on very loud backing vocals for the, lala lala la la la and ohhh ohhhh oh ohhhs respectively. All rounded off by a blistering encore and of course a Town Called Malice. Roundhouse is a swish, lovely venue. I want to go to more of the gigs in this Electric proms thing. Couldn't get a ticket for tonight The Good The Bad and The Queen, Damon Albarn and Paul Simeon's new project and I haven't got tickets for James Brown on Saturday either; and I'll be damned if I'm ebaying. They make me soo angry those sharks who snap up tickets and then immediately put them on ebay thus denying real fans heyho there's always the red button and watching online though I suppose. BTW Jamiroquai can be seen on line now. http://www.bbc.co.uk/electricproms/ Last edited by Get Carter : 27-10-2006 at 00:24. |

looking forward to seeing the good, the bad and the queen tonight.
and the music shorts on the red button last night were pretty good too - my favourite was the grizzly bear one. Iain |

I applied for tickets for Nitin Sawhney but no luck. Will Young is on singing "Home" which he wrote with Nitin. I think it is tonight but only online and the Asian Network.

I caught a snatch of Jamiroquai on Freeview 301 this afternoon, but then right in the middle of a song, the BBC just stopped it.
Took it off air to show the snooker it seems. <later> 5:30 and the snooker's finished. Do they put Jamiroquai back on? Of course not.
