Do DVD lens cleaners work at all?
I am thinking of getting one as my well used DVD recorder is having playback problems.
It's a longshot but I assume it is worth a try. Do they actually work at all?. |

I have to admit I have not tried a cleaner Disc in a DVD, but the principle is the same with audio and data CD drives. Yes they do work in my experience, and it is probably worth a try before embarking on more complex and expensive solutions. The discs can be used in all optical drives so you would be able to use it elsewhere.

Yes, they do work - as long as a dirty laser was the problem!

In fact, very expensive repairs to put it right again. Similarly I once used a VHS cleaner tape in an old VCR and had to have that repaired as well. There's a motto here, somewhere! |
