Kean Live
Just got back from seeing Keane in London at Alexandra Palace. We had a great night but werent very impressed with the audience, they didnt seem to warm till it was almost all over, or was it just us???
did anyone else see them and what did they think? also too many assholes talking instead of watching. we stayed in a hotel nearby and walked down to the gig, but there was no way we were walking back up that Muswell hill, Jesus. |

Could you buy the CD of the gig afterwards? At Wolverhampton it was on sale 15 minutes after the performance finished.

I was just about to make a thread for this!
Thought the guys were amazing live. I also thought the audience seemed kinda... distracted. If you heard any screams of 'Tom you're fit!' well they were the people next to us. Kinda annoying. But hey I guess they were just having a good time. Do you know if they did any signings? We looked around for a bit but we couldn't find them, though I gather sometimes they do come out really late. Best songs there I think were Is It Any Wonder, This Is The Last Time and of course, Bedshaped. Atlantic and A Bad Dream suprisingly didn't seem to go down as well as some of the others. I couldn't tell really. Too busy trying to work out my bloody camera! ![]() I bought the cd about 15 minutes after the gig finished. Haven't had a chance to listen to it yet though. |

I remember seeing them in Leeds 2 years ago and they were superb.
There were some a***holes that talked all the way through the quieter songs though.

. I went to see Richard Ashcroft earlier this year an di had to tell a couple of idiots to stop talking. They were talking about the gardening they had done that day and what they were going to do tomorrow. The lady also started chatting about how scruffy that he looked (ra that is ), and that he should straighten himself up if he wants to perform in front of thousends of people. (sorry hijacked your thread )

thanks to you all for replying, yes even you sally, and its not exactly hijacking,it just proves that assholes get to all the gigs.
we didnt look around for cds or anything, coz theyre always crap quality anyway. we got a programme, which i think is great (I'm a printer and like the book design), and that was it. we left straight after to get a bus back to the hotel, like I said we didnt fancy walking back up that hill. we were in queens avenue at the very top. great gig very enjoyable. bedshaped was an epic |

Went to the Ally Pally gig on Friday. LOVED IT!!!!!!
'Everybody's Changing' and 'Bedshaped' sent shivers down my spine and 'Hamburg Song' wow... As for the CDs they're official Island Record ones. Under The Iron Sea cover art ltd ed double disc. Basically same professional quality cover to it you'd get if it was a general release with mixing desk sound quality. http://www.concertlive.co.uk/Keane/index.html Well worth trying to get hold of one. Wasn't going to get one. VERY glad I did.We decided along with loads of others to walk it back down to Wood Green station. Seemed quicker than trying to get a bus and hey might as well be even more knackered than I already was after dancing the whole time!!! . Personally I thought the audience was lively plenty of people dancing and singing and shouting where I was. About 1/3 way back from the front. Definitely want to see them again.

Anyone hear this at the Thursday gig?! http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/article/ds38763.html A girl near me (I was 10 rows back) shouted out crackhead but she was just drunk and having a laugh. |

Yes, I was there.... it wasn't quite as dramatic as it sounds!
Basically during 'Atlantic' which was the first song of the encore, the band were playing when one of the lighting trusses started to bend and the light attached to it started to swing precariously over the stage. Some roadies came on and tried to make it safe while the band finished the song, but once the song was over the stage manager told the band they had to leave the stage - they obviously thought they would be coming back as they didn't say goodbye and were gesturing as if to say, hold on a mo... Sadly they weren't allowed back onto the stage, so about 3 minutes later a disembodied voice came out into the auditorium telling us the gig was over and we had to go home. It was bloody disappointing, I can tell you that, as everyone was on a huge high and for it to suddenly stop with no proper ending was really crap. The worst thing is that the voice didn't explain to us why the gig had to end, so those who hadn't noticed what was going on ( a large proportion of the audience I think!) were left to make up their own conclusions as to what had happened! Still a great gig up to that point though... James |
