Me to. I'm hoping and praying they do at least until all the Baz and Charlie stuff happens in season 9?? Well whenever she comes back and Louis is born and everything. I started watching just before Baz came back I think. I remember Mike and Rachel and a few other characters.
I keep thinking I remember Robson Green but I've seen so many clips of him in it I'm wondering if i've just made myself think I've seen him in it.

I can't see them doing every series though just because it's like a soap now and it's on all year round. I'm not complaining about it been all year round though

Me too... I only really started watching the show from series 5 onwards, so would love to see series 4 (having caught other series on UK Gold). From what I can remember, this is when the show started to get grittier and gorier with stories like the famous road pile-up involving toxic chemicals, and a bomb in a department store. Sure I read somewhere that they were planning to release up to series 10 on DVD (although series 7 onwards were 24 episodes each so this will take longer anyway).

I agree 100 percent. Someone on the forum said that their local BBC shop claimed at lease series 1-10 were set to be released. however I have yet to have this confirmed by them. Perhaps a petition is in order.

They only released them as part of the 21st birthday celebrations. And by contacting them saying you are upset, it's not going to make any difference. If they aren't doing any more, they aren't doing any more.

I can't say I agree with you entirly. I think if enough people contact them then they will eventaully release more. I thought they were only releasing series one as a part of the celebrations. The others came later. Anyway, if people want more casualty DVD's then they need to write in and say so.

Adequate promotion of them might have helped , the Beeb have done this before where they release something but dont give it enough promotion.

Hi all.

I have had a reply to a message I sent to 2 Entertain regarding the release of Casualty Series 4 onwards, onto DVD. Basically, they have stated that they are regularly discussing a DVD release for this, but unfortunately retailers are reluctant to sell it. They have said they will discuss Casualty Series 4 release with the retailers again in October, and if they can get them to agree there is good possibility that Casualty Series 4 would be released onto DVD. I have also contacted some of the retailers to suggest to them that they should and why. This will be discussed in the October meeting, so if I here anymore news I will let you know.

That is brilliant news as Casualty is my best drama and its still going very strong today.

What's the point getting season 1 - 3 on dvd and not making any more on to dvds? seems pointless to me.

Also I haven't got season 1 to 3 on dvd as I have heard the episodes have been cut, is that true?

I would love all the series on dvd and keep getting them every series

My best series was where Dillion, Jack, Nikki, Laura, Patrick, abs. them were the best characters and I miss them so much

I am also glad casualty do a preview of the next episode now, Hope the producer keeps it like that with a preview for the next episode.

There were minor cuts for contractual reasons - e.g. they had to remove a story with a character in a spiderman costume. That's the only major edit I recall, and that episode still runs for something like 40 minutes.

BIB - and if you (and others like you) HAD bought the DVD's, there'd be more chance of further series coming out. They're not going to keep releasing them if sales aren't good enough, are they?

I'd have been surprised if you hadn't, since you're so keen to see more

It's very strange though when you read people complaining that releases haven't continued when they openly admit to not having supported the range already. It's basic economics - if the first batch of releases of any series don't sell enough copies, then they won't continue with subsequent series. So even if you don't particularly have an interest in the early years, if you want to see the later episodes its vital that you invest in the project, so to speak.

It's still got Charlie in it anyway, so even young'un's will see something familiar to them - and Derek Thompson who plays him also recorded some commentaries too (as did the show creators) so they are great releases to have.

At the very least I'd like to see the other short-run series, 4 - 6, released, but I'd definitely buy up until the 26 episode twelfth series which saw several characters (including Ash) return for Charlie's wedding. The series length began to get longer after that so I'd probably only buy beyond series twelve if they continued with VAM - i.e. the commentaries and any other extras they want to offer us!

Actually, speaking of Ash, now seems a particularly good time to get his series' released! So come on 2|entertain, entertain us!

I have some more new regarding Casualty series 4 release. 2 Entertain have said they can't plan for a release unless they get the sales department to support this, which they won't as Series 3 didn't sell very well. I have looked at comments on other sites regarding a series 4 release and people have been hessitant to buy series 3 because of them not releasing series, as what's the point. I have replied to 2 Entertain regarding this issue and they replied this morning saying that they are fowarding my message to the sales department and also to some of their sub-distribution company. Therefore, they are doing everything they can and are attempting to push for a series 4 release. Don't get you hopes up yet, but I'm not giving up and neither are they. They are doing everything they can.
