Is there any news on a Spice Girls reunion????

Does anyone else wish they would get back together one last time...

Its getting near the end of the year, 10 years since they began and there is no news.

Hopefully after Emmas stint on Strictly Come Dancing, the girls might have one last performance or if were really lucky make a new song or album.

We can only hope....lol

I'd love it if they did. Even if they don't want to do a tour surely a greatest hits album should be released.

Well Mel C said from the start she didn't want to do it, now Victoria has also said she won't either.

However, the rumours are that they are contracted to release a Greatest Hits and the W.O.M.A.N ( a song that they recorded for Forever but didn't make the album) will be the single they use to promote it.

They were also rumoured to be performing/ doing the single for CIN this year. As we all know, Emma is doing the single now but there's been no more news on the performance at CIN.

They'll wait and see how Take That and All Saints sell.

God I hope not. It's bad enough that TT & AS have reformed and are selling 'music' again

*Sigh* It's quite depressing and show's that the girls or "women" don't really want to go anywhere near it. Mel C's big in Germany so she's concentrated on that. Emma's got publicity on "Dancing" and I think has a new album planned. Mel B is apparently pregnant with Eddie Murphy's babies. Victoria says she doesn't want to do music anymore and Geri is mothering.

But I really wish they would take what Take That & All Saints have done, into consideration. Get some new fans and restart the nostalgia trip. People would love it. A part of me is shocked they haven't done anything but looking at what I've written above...a part of me isn't. It's a great shame...We still have two months though and who says something can't happen in 2007....

*Spice Hopes*

The thing that always puzzles me about a Spice Girls reunion is this...
Take That split up in a blaze of glory with their fans still wanting more. Therefore, it seemed feasible that a reunion would appeal to a lot of people, and it was 'bringing back' a product which was still wanted in the marketplace.
Spice Girls' last single release 'Holler' got to No1, but only just. People were plainly bored of the band, their last album was selling so poorly that they never even bothered releasing a follow-up single to keep promoting it. They never even officially announced a split, presumably because, in direct contrast to the 'helplines' for fans of TT, people would've said 'so what'?
Spice Girls reached the end of their shelf life, TT didn't. Releasing a six year old recording to promote a pathetic 'greatest hits' CD is hardly like uncovering Lennon's 'Free As A Bird' is it?

I just don't think a Spice Girls reunion do them any favours. I can't think of many people that would be interested.

I liked "Forever" a lot, but Rodney Jerkins stripped all of the "fun" out of the Spice Girls and their music a bit R&B-by-numbers. I think that's partly what killed their career.

And I think if they released a follow-up single to "Holler", I think it would have flopped. I think Virgin didn't want to take a chance on that, so they decided not to bother (and it was clear by that point that none of the girls were particularly interested in the promoting it).

They were not going to promote Forever anyway, Only Holler/Let Love Lead The Way were supposed to be released as singles and "If You Wanna Have Some Fun" was the MTV montage clip to promote the album. All the girls were doing solo stuff.

I think a reunion would be a success, but not now they should wait a bit and the only reason why Take That's reunion was more anticipated/successful was because they were a boyband and were still big when the split up. The Soice Girls started mixing Solo stuff with the group stuff so it did split the fanbase and people's opinions of them as individuals.

I don't think they should actually reform but a Greatest Hits would be good.

Well from polls etc in the last year, huge majorities have said yes to a reunion.

I honestly don't think the girls want to, and GH has a GH pencilled in next year, and Virgin have given the go ahead to it, so she'll be busy with that.

I think Emma has slowly but surely created a sustainable career, and she'll be around for years to come.

I disagree I think the Spice Girls ended badly, they should have ended with Geri Halliwell thats why they MUST return with her to give fans proper closure.

As am I. My father paid a large amount to have dinner with her. I have also met her many times.

She says that 2007, when BM is settled, she will be seeking a new contract.

Please lets not get into a debate about her, because I will win.

LOL your father had dinner with her? pull the other one, until I see proof I dont believe you, I know a contact of Geri who insists she or EMI have no plans anytime soon to release a greatest hits, if she's looking for a new deal as you say its likely she is working on new material NOT a greatest hits.
