You seem awfully defensive of these people. It just reads like 'how dare you criticise them when you clearly know nothing about dancing because all you lot do is vote for a nice chest!' Personally whilst they were probably technically fine I thought they lacked any 'performance' which makes great dancing what it is. People aren't saying they don't like them because they don't fancy them/think they're not nice/have bad chests/have rubbish teeth - they're saying the performance as it was was uninspiring and lacked any spark which I'd more than agree with.

I think you find that if you step down off your high horse, people talk plenty about the dancing in the threads. Most of the discussion from last night was about the poor scoring based upon favouritism rather than the actual performances.

I don't like that there is a lot of voting not based on dancing skill at all but I certainly don't dig at or turn my nose up at those who vote for different reasons. It's entirely up to them why they vote but I'd be very surprised if in the end a very good dancer didn't win. Talent has won out for three series now and I can't see this one being any different.

I wasnt on any high horse I leave those lofty places for others or pots that call kettles black was just pointing out the irony of it all give cuban grooves a break they were ok but didnt deserve a thread on how poor they were

Why not? The pros in the competition are not given a break when they perform below standard so why should the guests be any different?

The OP is clearly in the know and expressed an informed opinion that what they saw was quite poor and did not represent the dance very well. I'm glad they posted it because from just watching the demo people may get the wrong idea about the Cuban Salsa - it is and can be much better than that.

Speaking for myself, I may talk a lot about smiles and chests LOL but I vote for dancing.

Yes, I am in the know. Been dancing Cuban for over 4 years taught by Kerry Ribchester and some of the people who spent time working with her over in Cuba.

It's a great dance style that is slowly getting popular again and last night was the ideal chance to make it shine. The chance was missed.

I could give you a list of everything about it that was not Cuban but I won't.

and me too, I like to talk about Mark as a sexy man in his threads, but I also love Mark as a dancer. If his dancing wasn't so good, I wouldn't expect him to stay in - however, I think his dancing is more than up to scrutiny.

So, dig away, bendymixer, I won't apologise for posts that are upsetting you when they are in threads for that particular person.

I can talk about Marks dancing too, I am not as shallow as you may like to believe.

Getting this thread back on topic, thankyou Alfster for your interesting post. I did notice the lack of fluidity in last nights cuban salsa.
