Emma And Darren In Trouble
I thought Emma and Darren's performance on Saturday night's show was reallt really poor. If they want to stay in this competition she is going to have to start taking it more seriously. They only trained for a few hours this week and it really showed to be honest.
Hopefully people agree with me. Why is she still in this competition? The others want it much much more. Best, DancingDiva |

Carol & Matt's foxtrot was the best of the night.
I can't get excited about Emma & Darren at all. They lack spark! |

I would have thought their CIN video was preplanned and they would have worked harder in earlier weeks to prepare. I remember Camilla did something similar last year when James had a lot of work one week they had prepared for it. Last edited by Eclipse80 : 29-10-2006 at 13:54. |

The moment I heard Emma was going to be with Darren I thought it would be magic - evoke the Jill and Darren magic which started my Strictly obsession off but I have to be honest and say that so far, I'm very dissaointed.
The quickstep was very good indeed, but then their jive which was heavy and cumbersome and lacklusture, and the Foxtrot forgettable. I have to say it seems that Emma doesn't seem to have the *passion* for it, the drive. She wants to be there, no doubt, but I dont' know, the 'x' factor isn't there. If she can overocme her nerves, make sure knows the routine back to front and goes on stage and puts 110% in, it could still be magic. I'm waiting ! |

I don't know what to say about them... Ok their quickstep was really good... But their Jive was overrated and their foxtrot was horrid... Emma as a person is growing on me slightly but I don't know about all this hype about her dancing...
I hope she does improve on the foxtrot and gets on with it... Because she might be one of the better dancers but if she doesn't start earning all the praise and all the high marks she's gonna have people dislike her for something that ain't even her fault... |

I actually think they're in trouble this year, but it's mainly down to Craig, and to an extent Bruno, and his marking - it was frankly ridiculous last night, and I imagine that the Zoe factor could come into play against her. Not her fault at all, but another medicore performance nearer the end, and she might not have the public support to see her through. A lot of people noticed that Carol was unfairly marked in relation to Emma, and I wouldn't mind betting she won the public vote out of those two.
So far - Fair quickstep, but I'm still convinced it went wrong at the end, Jive was not good and very overmarked, and a flat and dull Foxtrot, a lot of the celebs are busy, Bill was presenting all during last time, Aled was out on tour, Matthew has to travel to Scotland to train with Carol, James was invovled in cooking shows etc etc They all made time, so I don't see that as much of an excuse. |

Glad it wasn't just me that thought it was strange. I'd kind of forgotten about it but as soon as you said - yes, it was a VERY weird ending, and I was surprised at the time that no one commented - I assumed it was some sort of mistake, or mistiming. Very odd.
Ho hum. |

Or was it something else altogether you meant?? LOL Emma's a fair enough dancer but she's not as amazing as the judges make her out to be. That puts people off of voting for her because they see it as unfair - no one likes a teacher's pet if they don't deserve it. Also she can be rather whingey at times - yes, Emma we're all aware it is rather hard but when you've got people like Peter, Ray, Mark and Carol who barely ever complain, constantly hearing from you about how hard it is gets tiresome and doesn't endear you to people... |

Let's face it, the judges (especially Craig) are trying very hard to get her to the final. I can anticipate what's going to happen in the next few weeks, whether she fall, walk or stand still, she'll be highly praised and be given at least 7 or 8. As regarding other dancers, if they are excellent and VERY, VERY lucky they can get a proper mark. As for Clare and Brendan, if they are very good, it's too clean, no filth, if they are not very good, then it's the worst, if they break the rule, then they should be punished - whatever the case, they can't win with the judges. Fortunately this is not what the viewers think.

I totally disagree with anyone that says they are in trouble, as with this competition every celebrity is in trouble, as you put it. Considering this week she only trained for 2 days, and seeing as she suffers from her nerves being up first must have been her worst nightmare. I still think their best dance is to come. Watch this space, Darren will get her good. End Of.

P.s: Lousia suffers from nerves a lot too, and Mark always looks like he is about to brick it before he goes on, I don't think it can be really used as an excuse for that foxtrot tbh Last edited by Jocko Homo : 29-10-2006 at 14:51. |

To be brutal, if her nerves are that bad then she never should have done this show because it won't be good for her. All the contestants seem to look nervous. I know she's had problems with her nerves in the past but if she can't cope with it she should have been sensible enough not to put herself through it in the first place. As it is, she chose to be here and I can't give her any sympathy based upon how nervous she gets when many of the other contestants go through the same thing.

I don't know - I can and do sympathise, actually.
BUT, it won't make me vote for her if she doesn't deserve my vote, based on "she would have done better if she hadn't been nervous." |

Also I never said she should go soon. She is a good dancer and hopefully they'll stop being complacent/busy and actually work for the praise. I just think it maybe the Zoe factor all over again. Last edited by Jocko Homo : 29-10-2006 at 15:11. |
