Keisha Buchanan has spoken about her plans to launch a solo career.

The Sugababes singer confessed that she hopes to follow in the footsteps of Beyonce Knowles, who found success in her own right after taking a break from Destiny's Child.

"We all want to do solo careers. It is something we talk about a lot," Keisha told The People. "We love what the girls in Destiny's Child did by going off and doing their own thing before reuniting again.

"I think we will be following suit - going off and then getting together again later. I am sure things will happen naturally."

-------------------------

So it would seem Keisha now wants to try it solo. I say be done with the Sugababes. There is only one original member and I think they've had their day.

As much as I have liked their music in the last few years and loved their debut album, I think there's very little they can do from here on end, it's just not the same. Not to mention if we have stuff like "Easy" to look forward to in the future than please spare us...

I hope the Sugababes do split up. Their last album was poor, and "Easy" is dire. I don't think there's much more they can do as a group.

I really don't see any of them having much in the way of a successful solo career. None of them have the personality, charisma or stage presence to do very well as a solo artist.

All in my humble opinion, of course.

Yeah I was thinking the same thing. I'm not out to get them or anything but honestly, their last few singles were a bit meh and with just one original members I think the magic is gone. They really are not the Sugababes.

I liked the combination of Heidi, Keisha and Mutya because their voices all blended well for me, with the previous girl Siobhan? It was obvious they weren't getting on so there was no chemistry, I'm not sure the new girl can actually sing.

The last sugababe song I liked was Ugly.

I love Easy! I think it's a great beaty dance tune. I hope they stay together for many years to come!

I thought Red Dress was great, but it's all gone down since then, i think they still have alot to give, but they just can't find the right song!

Give Amelle a chance, I reckon she's got the best voice of the three and is easily the best looking. I'm all for her solo career but only after they've done at least one more album together. Keisha and Heidi will never make it on their own so they shouldn't be rushing into a split

I don't think anyone can comment until the next studio album comes out after the GH with Amelle on it. It's unfair to pass judgement until then.

The Spice Girls did this between the 2nd and 3rd albums and by the time the group rebanded they tanked due to lack of interest and overexposure.

So are you saying Keisha shouldn't bother doing solo work as well as still being part of the Sugababes because it will result in the group suffering?

I was at the Dominion performance last night and they are definitely amazing and on top form.

I really hope they dont split up. Let Keisha leave if she wants to, she seemed quite distant last night, not looking in the audience or waving to fans.

I don't think Amelle will fair well as a solo artist as she's the newest and therefore hasn't had enough time to establish herself within the band yet let alone the music industry as a whole.

The original one who left vanished without a trace and her CD was apparently quite good. They never seems to know they're onto a good thing, Atomic Kitten, Steps etc. Never quit the day job.

That said, Mutya has done a duet with George Michael, and has a big MySpace fanbase, which as Lily Allen shows, can do you a world of wonders!
