PVR vs DVD Recorder with HDD with Freeview
Ok I am in 2 minds and hope I can get some advice. I am profoundly deaf and rely on subtitles for my enjoyment. I have ordered a PVR for the bedroom and I do not know if I should order another PVR for the living room or to go for a DVD recorder with Freeview and a hard drive, I tend to copy dvds anyway but any help or advice would be greatly appreciated ie pros and cons. Many thanks sent

Personally I'd order both. The advantages of a PVR (especially a twin tuner that allows "record two") is that you can be recording one thing while watching another that you can then pause/rewind at any moment. You don't get that versatility with a single tuner DVDR alone (and there are no twin (DVB-T)tuner DVDRs yet). You could then probably get by with just a DVDR alone for making permanent copies of programs recorded on the PVR (this is what I do) but the ultimate would be to have a DVDR+HDD there as it makes top/tail and advert removal MUCH easier.
