(Except for $Ky Digital-less viewers in Scotland who have a Hibs v Hearts match on instead of "Panorama" on the Wednesday). However ITV1 is boxing clever with a premiere of X2 from 9pm!

Meh, fellowship of the ring is hardly a new film, think people that want to see it have seen it. And its too long just to watch it because its on.
And Gothika is total pants from start to finish

Maybe they are filming Ep 12 after Ep13 and he means last as in filming order?

They did film most of Ep2 before Ep1 afterall.

As for the Sunday night competition, it may well Knock the Ratings down a bit but of course people have the option of the BBC2 repeat so maybe the figures for that would increase.

I notice that next Sunday's is on at 10pm, the BBC really needs to keep to a standard time rather than start moving it backwards & forwards.

EDIT: Yes, that statement is incorrect, please ignore.

Sorry, my mistake, it was only the 1st ep that was 9pm. It must be the sudden change in the weather affecting the brain cells - I've edited an apology to the post.

Media Guardian reports only a small dip from last Wednesday, which pleasantly surprised me. 2.5m as opposed to the 2.8m BBC2 debut easily beating C4 and Five.

That`s very good. Especially since it was up against the National Television Awards.

2.5M is a very good hold for the BBC2 showing. I do though think some of that includes viewers who have switched from watching BBC3.I wouldn't be too surprised if we hear Series 2 is being comissioned in the next few weeks.

I still reckon it'll get pulled before the end of the series.

Definitely won't be a second series.

So what sort ratings would you expect from a BBC3 series?

Sorry - I don't like the series. I'm genuinely suprised that it got any ratings, considering how bad it is (IMO).

My gut feeling is that ratings will start to plummet aroung midway through the series.

But then I've been wrong before.

Many said the same about Dr Who and were wrong, so far there seems to be a good enough reception that a second series is likely.

But who knows - you might be right.

So you hope it will get pulled because you do not like it. That sounds just a little bit petty or are just wanting to save those who do like it from ourselves.

Not at all - I dislike it because it's badly made - IMO. The original premise was good, but the prog was put together by committee, and not one that met regularly. Thats why I dislike it.

But you're right - it's unfair of me to want a prog pulled because I don't like it. I now hope it continues just for you.

.... and the many others who seem to enjoy it (remembering thet the BBC makes programmes for many tastes, just because you don't like something dies not automatically mean that others don't, neither does it follow that the programme should be pulled - the easiest thing is to watch/do something else of course. )

Please don't do that. You could start a campaign for more serious science fiction. As much as I enjoy Doctor Who, Torchwood it would be nice to have some low key (not sfx heavy) and thoughtful scifi programming. Anyway I'm off to watch some more of The Invasion DVD.

well, i think it will and should def get a second series. the figures - since that is what the execs go on - are great. the critical response, especially from these forums are pretty positive - sure it has it's critics but THERE HAVE ONLY BEEN 3 EPS SO FAR! and from what i hear it gets better and better with more of the personalities coming out and it bedding itselfinto a more black bleak trenchant philosophy. come on give Torchwood the chance to get going at least before raining on its parade....

The real test for Torchwood will be the 19th November, when it goes head to head with Lost on Sky one. I think i will have to start watching the Tuesday repeat from then onwards, it is unfortunate for BBC Three that it will have to go head to head, with an established series which is aimed at a similar audience.

As for the comment, that it will not do as well this week because it is up against a Touch of Frost, is completely flawed. Rember the first episode was up against Prime Suspect and it came in 2nd place. I do think that we will now see the charcters will be allowed to develop in Torchwood. The trouble with episode 2 was that the viewer was being introduced to everyday torchwood, and its characters, while also getting to know Gwen. Episode 3 was definetly the best of the series so far, mainly because it began the character development.

And where did you hear this?

I think its been pretty good so far, but the second episode was piss poor. I don't think it should last unless it improves, but I think the audience it gets it will last.

If anyone has missed an episode so far BBC3 is repeating all three tonight.

I don't think there's much of a crossover between the audiences for the two programmes. They're quite different shows, and it's only the extreme sci-fi/cult fans who watch every such show on TV (and I don't mean that in any sort of negative way) who will have to choose.

I do think, though, that the Sunday episode of Torchwood will gradually lose viewers to the Tuesday and Wednesday repeats, as those are generally more convenient nights to be watching TV.
