Only had my 540 for a few weeks, so only tried one manufacturer. But the TDK 16x DVD-R disks work fine for full speed copying.

Hi. I have a Pioneer 420h and now a 545 and have used many makes, and never had a coaster. But what you should do is read http://www.digitalfaq.com/media/dvdmedia.htm, this gives you idea what to buy.

As long as you don't go for the cheap rubbish you should be OK. Use sites like cd-rmedia and read the manufacturers blurb first. I've tried TDK, Ritek, Sony, Titanium and RiDisk without any problems... also Verbatim 6x RW although they won't write at more than 2x in my PC?!

More importantly when are dual layer -R discs coming down? +Rs are 99p on CD-rmedia but -Rs are still £2.89 each. Is there a work around/hack to get the 5x0s to use +Rs?
