Ok I wrote a comment saying I totally agreed with what brendan, peter and camilla, and bill said in the show! however none AGREEING WITH BRENDAN from anyone have been put on the site! loads disagreeing with him, and agreeing with the judges have been put up though!!!

That totally stinks!! think its a fix now to try and get brendan and claire off before he can be any more honest!!

Have you seen the poll about who should be knocked off on the BBC site - Clare & Brendan second least popular after Jan&Anton - Peter&Erin a distant 3rd. Thought that was surprising but seems to indicate Brendan's comments came across as sour grapes with some of the viewers.

Or maybe they are unpopular with the general public (as opposed to just judging by this forum)! maybe they didn't include your comments because for every pro-Brendan comment they receive, they get 2000 anti-Brendan ones, so they want to show the proportionality of reaction.

Does everything have to be a conspiracy?

No but with everyone mentioning emma and darren and louisa and vincent, then a cross section of views would just be nice!

Brendan is a very marmite dancer - he's just as unpopular as he is popular. He and Claire have been quite high on that poll every week as have they been on other polls I've seen. I don't see any conspiracy there.

This is just like the Big Brother thing. Plenty of complaints but none ever showed up on Channel 4s website. It's just how it goes, I'm afraid.

I guess as you got read on ITT you are taking that back as they are taking notice?

I had a read on the forum today and was dismayed as a long term lurker, about so many negative threads and comments about SCD.

I like the band and singers, would have supported Brendan more if he had done a better dance, but to argue over not one of his best, that he even admitted, made me a bit fed up, as it made others who had done well look like they didn't deserve it (I don't dislike him BTW) and the fact we know the BBC read these boards, it seems this year more than any other, some people are using it to gripe about how crap the programme is, and changes they want, when there are a lot of people who adore the programme (me and others!) who are happy as it all rounds out in the end, whatever the judges comments.

This isn't so much a gripe at you OP, but more at the fact there are so many negative comments this year...and I always say, if you don't like it don't watch it! How can they win? I like Mark and Ray, others don't. I like the judges, and take their views with a pinch of salt, others don't.

I don't expect everyone at the BBC to remake the show to suit me? The judges and the format are what have made the show. I have watched since the first series an if it ain;t broke, don't fix it.

I don't mean to spout off...but as a long time lurker, the fact the BBC look at these boards seems to give credence to people slagging them off.

Not meaning to offend anyone but I am just stating my opinion too.

The BBC usually look after their own - it wouldn't do to have an ITV actres being popular now would it?!?!

Nothing new there, then !

Us Scots have been complaining for years..... we've never had ITT on a Thursday and now we don't get the Sunday highlights show either.

Not once has anyone I know ever received a response from them either despite loads of e-mails and phonce calls in the direction of Queen Margaret Drive (BBC HQ in Glasgow) !!!

You're right about the level of negative comment. But ask yourself, is this because many of us are just moaning? Or is it because we genuinely think this series is worse? And, furthermore, is it worse because the dancing is poor, or because the other, supporting aspects like the judging, band etc are worse?

Personally I think that, while there doesn't appear to be another Jill in this group, the general standard (of dancing)has been high (especially considering each couple has only done 3 individual dances so far) and the level of effort (by the dancers) is commendable. But the other aspects, that should be running smoothly, are not.

Brendan and the judges are all playing out the consequences of the public votes.

A significant number of voters seem to be voting for whoever the judges dislike - not understanding that if they save the worst people someone better will go because its a zero sum game where the answer is that there will be one less contestant next week whoever they save from the judges. Its seems people don't understand the concept of opportunity costs or that their choices have consequences. Its not a vote for people's personalities - as the votes vanish as soon as they are counted - and its not a vote for the individuals stories as the votes don't follow the VT stories offered and float from one low scoring contestant one week to the next.

The result of votes going to who ever the judges think is worst is that the people at the bottom are moving into the top half of the public voting order and the people in the middle are going to the bottom and being kicked out. Spoony is the first victim and Georgina is the beneficiary and then the victim - showing that its a contra-judges vote rather than people actually voting for her - same girl, same story, better dancing, and she comes four places lower in the vote because its three other people's turn to be saved from the judges.

if you are a judge faced with this its clear what you have to do - give the people you think are best high marks to ensure they don't get caught in the middle ground. Beyond that though the judges are stuck as however bad people are the more they say so the more votes they seem to get. They can't get rid of the bad or protect the people in the middle ground and trying to engineer a clear choice at the bottom doesn't work either as the public are just rewriting and reversing the judges order for most of the contestants.

If you are Brendan you are caught in the middle anyway because you have a middling ability partner. You are in danger from all the worse people being bumped up by the anti- judge voter. Whats a good strategy for you? - its to criticise the judges so hopefully you will get some more votes and move up the rankings and if you are lucky some of the anti-judge vote will come your way too. In that sense 4 from Arlene is worth more to you than the 6 she might have given you anyway.

The BBC are sooooooo biased with their comments.

We can tell from on here, as a general rule, Brendan has the support. The BBC just cut the comments they want. So much for a station we are forced to pay for.

I shall read the comments and then make a formal complaint if that is so.

Chuffin' good description of Brendan. I reckon Brendan is going to bite back this year, cos he has got a partner that he isn't going to have to 'nurture' or treat with kid gloves. If anything I am of the opinion that Claire was who got them through the dance on Saturday, on reseeing the footage on ITT last night, Brendan was spitting feathers BEFORE they went on, as he mentioned on the couch and in previous years, Kerplunsky would have let him go and thump Craig before the dance, the Holby girl would have run off before they went on and Fiona would have lost the plot totally and tripped the pair of them up on the steps to the dancefloor.

Obviously Claire is just the sort of celeb Brendan wants, she will give as good as she gets and make b****y sure she is as good as she ever can be, without blood shed, but don't rule that out at some stage.

No Im not taking that back because it takes everyone kicking up a fuss for them to think hang on there may be a point to all the dancers getting ticked off!
