Personally I'm not comfortable with judges deciding who should go.

It has to be impartial and I don't think they could manage to do that.

I watched the takes two programme tonight

no wonder Emma gets high and mighty praise from Craig(i think its his name)

He is in her video and with her singing the CIN song this year I can only see the favoritism deepening to a point where the others may as well go home now

And not just a format to highlight (might I say crappy CIN song) downtown?!? omg!

Maybe get a celeb whos singing career isnt in the toilet! and actually has a solo career!!!

I think that was written into her scd contract that she got to do the song for children in need!! as its usually number 1!!

but i miss seeing clips of the dancers training too!!

I didnt know it was mix of men and women doing both!!

Well.. I think the choice of song was deliberate as it will appeal to the BBC's "target audience."

It's a pretty "mumsy" sort of song, not one Ms Bunton would have thought of choosing herself, I guess.

It should not have escaped the notice of the musicians amongst us that the range of this song is off hand, (I can't force myself to play it,) I'd think no more than an octave, a good choice for anyone with a limited range.

It is guaranteed to be Ms Bunton's first "No1" if only for a week.

Tony Hatch will think Christmas has come early this year.

Does number one actually mean anything any more in this era of downloads?

ROFL.

Good point, don't know who would actually want to download it, just in the days of the Beatles you had to sell 100,000s and now it's about 6 copies I think....

Certainly don't object to voting, at least it's going to a good cause and not Simon Cowell's bank account.

More to the point, does it mean anything in this era of inflated publicity, prior radio play for favoured singles, one hit wonders, singles hitting high and then fading away, and TV shows practically being able to guarantee their creations hitting the number one spot: witness that blooming awful "rivals" thing a few years back - the very fact that the producers could effectively guarantee that ONE of their bands would hit number one, because of all the hype and publicity, and were just worried about which, says it all. Long gone are the days when a number one hit had to get to the top through merit.

But never mind - the profits will at least go to a good cause and while it's not exactly great music, I have to say I've heard a great deal worse.

No need to buy it, (perish the thought.)

For those who like it, Google "Youtube" the night of CIN, someone will put on the whole performance, you can guarantee.

These are on already.

Yep because the x factor is 50p and it all goes to greedy phone co's and producers, at least scd, its half the cost, and half cost of that goes to cin.

they should have saved the money this year and got a half decent artist to do the song!? heard orville was avaliable!!

sorry must be because its friday!! lol!!

Firstly, and my main two are these

Len and arelenes personal attack on claire and brendan, both with comments such as 'stick to the filth' even before brendan spoke back to the judges, as well as there personal vendetta continuing into the results show and them trying to sway the public for no other reason than brendan voicing HIS opinion that they were inconsistant with the comments, then giving marks which no way reflect this.

also the favortism by craig to emma (also the producers do the same trying to show louisa favoring emma, by saying they are the favorites), as well as bruno with lousia!

And not forgetting i dont actually mind someone saying they looked sexy, but arelene goes way beyond this and its making uncomfortable viewing not to mention making mark and ray extremely uncomfortable, remebering they have their children in the audience!

Anyone else!???”

I agree that I think they are doing their best to get Emma to win and have been doing so since the start. It's all very dodgy.
I hadn't really thought about the men's children being in the audience when Arlene goes on an orgasmic rant, but you're absolutely correct. Not only is it not really appropriate from a professional point of view (as somebody said before if a man spoke to one of the female contestants like this, there would be an uproar) but it's embarrassing for them in front of their own family.

Bruce keeps telling us that it is a family show..by the way I like that he includes children in his welcome. And ITT goes out early evening too. Bruno and someone else(can't remember who) were pulled up about their language recently. I think this ought to be applied to dodgy remarks too, particularly when celebrities have their children in the live audience.

Having said that, I am glad that BBC and ITV are bringing back Saturday Night family entertainment with their choice of shows and their scheduling.
