As there seems to be a lot of negativity about, I thought I'd start a thread to say thank you to all the people that came up with the idea of SCD and participate in it (dancers, celebs, judges, production crew etc). I think you do a wonderful job and it's one of my favourite shows.

The things I love about SCD and ITT:
The dancers
The sparkly costumes
The sense of excitement come eviction time
How it's for a good cause
How it's made dance popular for the masses again

What else do you all love about SCD?

Its new and different

Quite simply the interaction between the male and female partners no other reality TV has this.

X factor and the others are simply rehashed old formats little different to Opportunity Knocks 40 years ago

can't argue with any of that

Nice idea

Love watching the pro dances
Love watching celebs gradually fall in love with dance
Love the dresses and costumes
Love seeing someone gradually improve and blossom into a good dancer
Love the routines
Love how excited and nervous I get when my favourites dance
Love how I feel when they do well
Love the fact we get ITT as well with the mildly insane Claudia

- Men wear gauze tops
- There is a fanzine show to come home to at the end of a hard day's work
- I can write silly Bridget Jones diaries and nobody locks me up
- It makes me smile like no other program on TV

Ooh, a love-in.....how controversial!

Hmm.....all of the above, plus:

- The chemistry and fun of the couples
- Seeing someone develop a skill/overcome adversity
- The wonderful threads that appear here
- The dancing. I love the dancing. Even the bad dancing, sometimes. I can't explain why....

Love the pro dancers especially the mens chests

Love the discussions on the forums

random good thing for me personally..for some reason when SCD is on i lose weight..must be all that stupid dancing round the house

Definately, one of the highlights of this series for me is watching the hyper, funny and loud Karen paired with the quiet, reserved Mark and watching the relationship evolve and how much she's bringing him out of himself, on and off the dancefloor.

I loved Anton's red santa suit……best outfit so far!

Well apart from the above points how about without SCD this lovely place wouldn't exist and I wouldn't have spent the day sharing my Anton obsession with people who not only understand but encourage that obsession!

On the downside I've hardly got anything done all day!

Aside from the squirrelman, obviously...

The sense of old-style glitz and glamour that has been lost from TV nowadays.
The sparkles.
The excitement.
The costumes (although this time they've been a bit iffy).
The dancing...

The forum!

No, I get that, even when I'm completely narked off at something on SCD, I still sort of love it, because it proves to me just how much I love this show - and that possibly makes even less sense

Thank you, Shappy. Of course there's always going to be controversies but the amount 'omg! I'm outraged!' is starting to get a bit crazy! At the end of the day I still love this show.

Oh she does rock!

First time I watched ITT I was like "Who IS this insane woman? What is this weird programme?" - had to watch the next day to see if I'd just been imagining it.

Before I knew it - totally hooked!

I'd be devastated if they tinkered with it and made it perfect - in fact I'd have to moan about it
It's the imperfections that make it perfect ...

The main reason I watch the show is of course, the dancing. The professionals are utterly amazing. Watching them dance is fantastic, I have so much respect for all of them. I admore Matt, Nicole & Erin especially, but I like them all.

Audience participation - voting for our favourites.

Fear - the judge’s criticisms of our favourites.

Horror - our favourites are leaving.

Drama - Brendan speaking up for himself and others.

Comedy - Brucie’s jokes ????

Watchable – All the family can enjoy SCD together.

These are a few of many reasons why I enjoy SCD.

Above all, it's good Saturday evening entertainment

Shappy, I didn't see this thread before I started mine but I wholeheartedly agree. Glad it's not just me!

My fav things?

Buzzing to watch Saturday nights.
Wishing I was as graceful as the female professional's.
The sheer joy I get over watching a good routine.
The judges...love them or hate them, the show would be less without them.
Ditto Bruce and Tess, even if they are not my favourites!
