Argh! I was going to order a phone last night from the Virgin Mobile site but thought i'd do it today so it can come on Wednesday when im free to collect it. I go to check today and its mysterious vanished, yet all the other ones are there! Please tell me its just because they are out of stock and they'll come back in soon I hope.

If it helps it was an Ericcson k510i. Cheers!

Its in stock at:
Orange
T-Mobile
Vodafone

You could get one of them, and get it unlocked if you want to be with virgin.

Thanks, it does seem like i might have to. How much does unlocking cost though? I'm totally new to this stuff

Last time i had to pay for a phone to be unlocked, it was £5. But if the phone comes with a usb cable, you might be able to find some software that'll unlock it for you for free.

Thanks. I had a look online and it said orange would charge £20 maybe

The phone does come with a USB cable. When i get the phone, will i have to use the orange sim card in it or once ive somehow unlocked it can i just put the virgin one in straight away? Im not sure how these things work.

The Sony Ericsson K510i is available on Virgin Mobile from Argos for £99.99 (including £10 credit). You can see this here: Sony Ericsson K510i

If you had an Argos store nearby, you could see if the phone was available there. You would get a new Virgin Mobile SIM with the phone but you could just insert your current SIM card, since the phone would be locked to Virgin Mobile.

Hope this helps.
