It's Bones & Tim Burton is the director - just watched it on youtube, it's pretty good apart from WHY has Brandon still got his comedy moustache - it looks wrong!

I wish I could love it lol, but I hate it, it's yuck. In fact I'm in a sulk with The Killers until he shaves and returns to eyeliner and sparkly eye shadow!

Can anybody tell me why in their new song Human do they sing "Am I Human or am I dancer?"

It doesn't make sense?

Apparently itt's "are we human, or are we denser?", although there's a lot of controversy about it - his accent doesn't really help.

It's Dancer.

Brandon confirms it on the record label website apparently.

He's referring to the way dancers follow a uniform pattern and seem to be on strings pulled by someone else.

I'm styill not convinced, now i know it's 'dancer' I'll cringe everytime I hear the tune.
I'd have more respect if he'd sung 'Denser' (which isn't even a word) than singing 'dancer' purely to rhyme with 'answer'.

Ach it annoys me, there's a Duffy lyric in Warwick Avenue where she plans to meet the subject "at the entrance of the tube"

It should be "TO the tube"!!!

From Popbitch

>> Killer tune <<
Brandon Flowers: denser dancer

If, like us, you're in love with the new Killers
track, Human, you're probably a little confused
by the lyrics. "Are we human or are we dancer?"
(Like, since when has dancer been an adjective?)

Brandon Flowers' explanation? Well, he was
inspired by a Hunter S Thompson quote, that
America was just raising a generation of
dancers. And that's it.

Are we human or just dancer

i love the Killers, and i love Human, but those lyrics are just bad. They make zero sence and just sound plain daft.

I won't hold it against them though

Its playing around with singulars and plurals.

He could have said 'humans' and 'dancers' but instead he used 'human' and so used 'dancer' as a semi-jokey link to the concept of 'human'.

Yes, but a lyric re-think wouldn't go a miss.

It's rhyme for rhymes sake.

The lyrics do make sense

On the band's official website, the biography section states that Flowers is singing "Are we human, or are we dancer?" and also says that Flowers said the lyrics were inspired by a disparaging comment made by Hunter S. Thompson about how America was raising a generation of dancers

although he could just say are we human or are we dancers

Seems to make perfect sense to me, can't see why it's causing such a fuss.

I know what you mean it's just irksome.
Dancer ins't a race and seems like he's singular-ized it to make it rhyme with 'answer' 'Dancers' would've done and been a little more explicit.

But hey ho,
*Yodels*

"Miya-hee, Miya-haa"

A german boyband on a plane if i remember,

Oh and of course ABBA's major faux pas

"Since many years I've seen a rifle in your hand..."

But English was their second language i guess.

Duffy has no excuse with her 'entrance OF the tube'
as mentioned above.

Of course one of Oasis' best songs has the line 'Oh my dogs been itchin', itchin' in the kitchen once again'. Gramatically correct, but ridiculous.
