iTunes problem
Hi,
I hope someone can help me. All has been well with my iTunes for a couple of years, but in the last few days when I am playing tracks on it through the computer speakers the sound has been very distorted and unbalanced. The vocal and bass lines of all the songs are very quiet whilst the middle (backing vocals, piano etc) stand out. Also everything sort of sounds like it's underwater and slightly echoey. I have tried all the settings on the equalizer and nothing makes any difference. All suggestions gratefully received as I am quite frustrated with it at the moment! Thanks |

There have been a lot of issues (bugs) with the latest version 7 of iTunes which a google search will reveal, if you haven't upgraded then I would say it was an issue with the soundcard/onboard mixing assuming that this is happening on other audio applications.

Upgrade to the latest version of Itunes - it fixed this and other problems downloading podcasts.

I have upgraded to the latest version but it did not solve the problem. I will investigate further whether it is the soundcard.
Thanks for your help

You could also try setting the itunes volume to max and controlling the volume via your pc/hi-fi controls. This fixes the noisy playback sometimes...
