no. it is charged via a USB cable that plugs into your PC.

you can buy a charger, or an adaptor that takes the usb cable and allows it to be plugged into the mains.

...and you can buy it overseas for much less money without concern for mains voltage or plug mechanics. The US$ is still at 1.80-ish...

Plus if you have more than one iPod you don't often need to charge both at the same time away from a computer and thus don't need to pay for multiple chargers.

Thanks for everyone's help. I've ordered the Special Edition Red Nano. I've seen the special chargers but I have my PC on nearly all day so that should be sufficient.

Nice one, the chargers are cheap anyway if you need one!

It's good to hear fellow Nano users enjoying using it
I think it's great (although I've messed my battery up) but other than that I can't fault it.

You'll probably get quite a few updates as they've just released it and will be making any fixes to problems that are being reported. After a few weeks you shouldn't get updates as often

Such a shame to ditch a superior player for an inferior one for the sake of a few grams. Such is fashion! (Sigh)

If it really is a RED product, it should be widely available, not just special edition. Trouble is the only reason the companies jump on the bandwagon is for publicity, they don't really care: look at the recent exposé of Apple's 'ipod farm' in China, with employees getting paid below minimum wage and not being allowed to go to the toilet etc.

I admit the Micro never failed me. But it's so heavy and thick. And it is an official Red product. I have the Motorola L7 Red phone as well so my MP3 and phone had to match. now that's fashion.

Well people have different priorities when it comes to MP3 players, but it do think Apple should make the RED ipod a mainstream version, i.e. widely available like the Moto phone. But seriously- the micro is tiny. Anyway these days it has been superseded by the Zen V, which is flash based and even smaller. Maybe we will be getting a red one of those too! I'm not totally discrediting the idea, I suppose playing capitalism at its own game in order to redistribute wealth could work, but I get very cynical: I can imagine Nike bringing out a Red trainer that is stitched by a four year old in Vietnam.
