A great partnership!
Matt Cutler is a wonderful dancer but he is also a lovely person who seems to have an endless amount of patience. Carol Smillie has drive and determination and has a great sense of fun. Her quirky method of learning the routines is not only very entertaining but also seems to be working.
From the first time I saw Carol & Matt interviewed on 'It Takes 2' I knew they were to be my favourites. It was obvious that this was a partnership that was working. They looked really so comfortable together as if they had known each other for years. When we see them in the training room there is no falling out, no dramas. They just get on with the job. On Saturday night they come out on to the floor and entertain. Any critism they get from the judges is used in a positive way. I do so hope they do well. They both deserve it. |

I totally agree Sheila, well said.
There is no nonsense pretend sexual tension between them, as Carol is happily married, with 3 kids, they are just like friends, or teacher and pupil, and I also enjoy seeing Carol's positive attitude, and happy personality. She may've been unkindly christened Carol SmileyMiley by Ronnie Ancona, but she is a very attractive lady with a great personality, and one of the most elegant celeb dancers on the show. They are like the quiet couple, with no headline grabbing antics, just concentrating on the dancing, which for fans of dance, that's what we tune in for!

Have to agree with everything said. Matthew seems lovely-modest, patient and unassuming, despite being the best looking pro male dancer. I thought they had cause for an outburst on Saturday as the comments and marks just didn't match. They should have had 9s but they just accepted their scores. Carol makes Arlene sound ridiculous with her comments about Mark lighting her fire and all that.
I hope they do really well. |

Not only does she have a great attitude and he comes across as really patient and a good teacher, she can also really dance and it'd be a huge shame if she didn't go a long way in the competition.
They've impressed me since their first performance. |

I agree, with one proviso, when has any of the excelent attributes this couple have had anything to do with people doing well in SCD, it is a bit of a shame, but too often couples like Carol and Matt have 'suffered' and gone out a lot earlier than their ability, effort or performance deserve.

They are both brilliant. I hope Carol goes on and on improving. With her attitude and Matthews teaching style there't no reason why not.

Completely agree, I love watching them together. Carol also has that genuine sense of enjoyment in what she is doing as well which really translates nicely into her dancing. Matt also seems to be a great guy and a lovely teacher, and he and carol also have that genuine rapport which has always been important in my favourite pairs in previous series.

I dont think Carol Smile is in the top flight of 4 yet but could bump Louisa and Vincent out of it.
Seems to be improving all the time Carol the Darren Gough of 2006

I too like Carol. My favourites for the final are Mark and Carol and possibly Emma.

I agree with much that has been said. They are a lovely couple, who work well together. Carol Smillie has a great personality and attitude towards life (and I have nearly forgiven her for presenting the vile and ludicrous “The People's Court”). I don’t think they will win but they deserve to be at least in the Top 5 (maybe more if they continue to improve so well).

I had taken little notice of Matt and Carol until saturday night when their foxtrot blew me away. I agree it would be nice to see them in the final, lets hope they have enough fans to take them there.

They're my favourites too!!! I've loved Matt for ages, he's the best!!!! He was really sweet and lovely when I met him the other week. And he's an amazing dancer! So I would probably be voting for him no matter how terrible his partner was.But Carol is really really good. They do seem to have a really good relationship, there's a lot of respect and understanding between them. They're really determined, but they're having fun as well. |

They both seem lovely people, they come across as hardworking and she is definitely competant, but I just don't see any magic or sparkle. I find my mind wandering when they dance.

I just find these 2 so refreshing! They are working hard, but having fun and Matthew seems to be a great teacher, who is getting the best out of Carol whilst remaining patient, nice and supportive. Their routines are lovely and based on good technique and whenever I see them on ITT they just sparkle together and make me laugh!
Their chemistry is really contagious..they seem to be so close and comfortable together and it seems totally genuine. I really hope they go far and can't wait until they're back on ITT. Oh and did I mention how fantastic Matthew Cutler's dancing is...he blows me away in the pro routines. |

I thought they were great on Saturday. She looked very classy compared to Claire King. |

Yep, I really like them both - it's a shame we didn't see more of Matthew last year, this year he's proving he's a lovely chap.
They are definitely in my top few - one of the few numbers I have saved in my phone so I can vote if I want to! |

Another great thread to Carol and Matthew. I'm sure people have seen it by I don't want anyone to miss her webcams - I think they could prove to be her secret weapon.
