Golden Oldies on SCD?
In past shows they have given us some fab dancing from the kids in the professionals' slot, but in view of some of the comments of and about the older celebs being part of the programme - I would love to see some older dancers doing a showdance for us.
There used to be a wonderful "Old Time" Formation team on the old Come Dancing shows (from the North West I think they were) none of whom seemed to be below pension age and they were wonderful to watch... It would go a long way to show that dancing really IS for all ages - although I must admit I don't think I'd really rush to watch the pensioners Latin formation team.... |

They were from the North-East... or the North... they were from our area
![]() I can't remember what they ended off calling the regions... it all fell apart when Angela Rippon left. Last edited by PeachUK : 02-11-2006 at 00:17. |

Can't really remember - but they were from somewhere "up North" and they were fantastic to watch.
Must admit I thought they were from the North West - as I used to live in Liverpool and remember thinking that yhey were fab to watch but they were up against the Penge Latin Team so it was 5 points the NW weren't going to get Scotland (and Ireland?), North East, North West, Wales, South West, Midlands, Home Counties N, Home Counties S...... |

Maybe we borrowed them one year... I was very little I don't really remember. If they were from Whitley Bay then they were from my area. Perhaps they were Cumbria in which case maybe their alliances were split.

I know the formation team for the East Midlands in the 1970s were the Thorpe & Hancock team from my home town in Mansfield.
