They really seem to want them out this week
Its a shame really because it makes me dislike the dancers the judges root for |

I agree 100% with Brendans comments the judges were being far too personal last week. I was shouting with praise for Brendan when he made his comment.

Yes I do - they're playing favourites, and being petty with regards to Brendan and Claire's scores. Bruno in particular was out of order tonight.

I thought Jan had a point asking Craig where the correlation was between "this was your personal best" and then giving the same mark as last week when the comments were bad. It wasn't the only discrepancy between the comments and the scores IMO though.

Tonight's performance from the judges just reinforced Brendan's point all over again for me.
It's time for some perspective, people .... this thread isn't about "bashing", was he right/wrong, etc.... it's about his criticism that the judgements coming from the panel are too diverese to be accurate. I'm not even going to mention the favouritism issue.... it's being done to death on plenty of other threads, but just think on this if you will: 1. Listening to Philip Jackson and James Jordan tonight showed just how differently professional ballroom experts view each performance. As a professional, Brendan will be more likely to share these opinions, not those of the judges 2. Jan Ravens had a very valid point - if CRH said that this was her best performance yet, why did he score her the same as last week ? (Forget about the total score being reflective of her position overall). Common sense would dictate that a better performance would merit a higher score. 3. Despite raving about Carol Smillie & Peter Schmeichel, they were still marked relatively low by CRH & Arlene. Yes, Brendan.... you ARE right, the judges are losing all credibility by their actions and it needs to stop. NOW |

NOW After last week's confontation, this week the judges has improved slightly, big thanks to Brendan for that. But there's still strong bias and that need to be sorted out. |

NOW Well said ally!! since two weeks ago i started listening to the commentary1! and it tells me so much more than the narrowmindedviews of the judges!!! Claire and brendan, jan and anton werent that good, but matt and lilia never get ripped apart like they did!! they still are being biased! and usless we keep making our views know they will carry on doing so!! and tess..................... dont even get me started!! she was terrible and vindictive last night!! if it had been ANYONE ELSE!! she would have said are you ok!?? not brendan seems like he is being bullied by the producers, judges, and now the bloody presenters!!! now we have got craig on tv now saying claire and brendan need to go next week, he hasnt EVEN SEEN THEM DANCE YET!???? ok breatheeeeeeeeeeee!!! last nights show was bad to watch i have to say as the judges were still being un comfortable with their comments! and bruno is being as narrowminded as len was last week!!! think the weekley flights are giving them brain damage!! |

Totally agree about Jan's question to Craig over the marking.
Interesting that Arlene thought that Peter waltzed better than some of the professional dancers she is training for SOM but still marked pretty low - doesn't really say much for the standard of dancing that will be on stage at the Palladium then does it? Liked Claire's reply to the judges criticism "I've got jobs lined up with Stringfellows and Spearmint Rhino" You've got to hand it to her she has a wicked sense of humour! Judges were better behaved than last Saturday but still have a long way to go to get back to the standards of days gone long ago. |

I agree, Claire seems to have a brilliant sense of humour. Some people have suggested she looks smug and sure of herself, but I just think she is enjoying herself and not taking it too seriously - and that's why she doesn't look like she's about to burst into tears when she gets bad comments from the judges or is in the bottom two.
Good for her. |

You probably didn't hear it because Tess tried to fluff over it in case it wasn't appropriate BBC Saturday night talk.
Although how that is more provacative than what Arlene says is beyond me. |

They know who the judges are before they sign up to do the show. They know what sort of comments the judeges will say so if they dont like the judges dont do the show . Let some other proffesional do it.

I'm sick of all the moaning from some of the contestants.
This is the fourth series - they know exactly the kind of thing the Judges will say and not all of it is going to be nice. I like to see the contestants take it on the chin and try and make improvements on their dancing. Colin Jackson was a good example of this in the previous series - no moaning, no excuses, he just got on with it. |

I'm actually surprised with the poll percentages. For me, the judges invariably get it right and often say what I'm thinking. Having looked back on the some of the dances from the last few series though and the scores that were given, it does seem to me that the judges are handing out 8's and 9's a lot earlier. I suppose it sensationalises the programme a bit (esp with Bruno giving out a 10 already!) rather than most people getting 6's and 7's all the time. But ultimately I think that the leaderboard still shows the order of the best dances.

I'm with you Sloopy and mr.bojangles. Tired of the moaning from celebrities and the leaderboard is usually correct.
I actually get put off when they show the rehearsals and you see the drama going on behind the scenes. I don't always agree with the judges but they should be allowed to give their opinion. Jan's outburst was bad form. If you were competing in say a Blackpool comp, you wouldn't dare go to a judge and blast them for marking you 3rd instead of 1st. I wish they would just accept it, make a great plea to the public and try to do better next time. |

I've just visited Erin and Anton's official website. Apparently, Erin also clapped when Brendan went for the judges as she thought Craig's comments about her dance that week was personal. Anyway, it's clear that Anton and Erin are on Brendan's side
