Exactly! As Scottish Claire from SDF series 1 proved. If you've got rhythm and talent, it doesn't matter what your size is!

Not a big salsa fan, but they're pretty cool. chris amuses me in group dance training when the celebs/pros are causing him ti have a mini nervous breakdown!

Maybe you could ask them if the BBC asked them to comment on the training footage of Carol & Matthew as they didn't get to see them personally ?

bendymixer, I asked in another thread, but perhaps you didn't see it:

Could you please post links of the other Dance Forums, as I'd love to read them, thanks.

I thought Jaci was amazing - and far more sexy than some of the super skinny women that are often held up as being gorgeous (this coming from a size 8!)

But, more importnatly, the dancing was absolutely amazing!! Can't wait for saturday to see more!

I thought she looked completely different on ITT (much better) than on Saturday night, on ITT she looked much younger maybe she had loads of stage make up on Saturday?

I thought about this too ~ as one of the ferquesnt comments about the existing judges is that only Len is really qualified to comment on ballroom/latin, I wonder how qualified the panel is as a whole to comment on Salsa?

Although, despite my grievances with some of the judging, they are all infinitely more qualified to comment than that fool from Footballers Wives on SDF. His answer to everything was "err, yeah, what Stacey said....."

I'm not an expert in this, but there seems to be more than one World Salsa Championship.... could anyone explain which is the real, or most prestigious one?

I really can't believe that these are the best in the world.

must admit helbrown, I thought the same last year.

Jaci is perfectly fine. Yes she's on the ample side, but I think she dances sexily and looks great.

There used to be a girl on the competitve circuit years ago, who was a similar shape and size. All the judges looked forward to watching her dance becasue she was real and womanly and much nicer to look at than a stick insect!

I remember she asked me what 'earthy' meant, one time. I asked in what context she'd heard it and she replied that she'd overhead one judge saying to another, that he should watch out for her in the competition, because (he said): "By gum she's earthy!"

He paid her a compliment, because it means to be lusty, suggestive and uninhibited!

I really have no idea, but I do know that if you Google for "Chris Marques" salsa you get about 150 hits and most of them seem to be PR fluff. I've not been able to find any real details of the championship they won.

In contrast, try replacing "Chris Marques" with "Alex da Silva" (winner of the Mayan International and a choreographer on the US equivalent of SDF). You get over 10000 hits, and they aren't all from his PR company or the television company he works for!
