Did anyone see the episode tonight. ken had the cheek to bring up Deirdre's affairs. He was so holier than thou but wasn't it him who ruined the original marriage by his affair with Wendy Crozier. Noone mentioned this. Did the writers forget.

There were so many references to past storylines, though. It's always the same when Daran Little writes the episode. If anyone knows all about Corrie, he's your man!

I don't understand. I know that Ken's affair was after Deirdre. But the point I was making was that why wasn't it brought up. He was so proud of the fact that he had never done anything like she had - but he had a long and secretive affair with Wendy Crozier in 1989 and that ended their marriage. Tracey was really upset about it. The affair with Mike was a big story but it did not end their marriage. Deirdre is not blameless but Ken has a lot to answer for. The wonderful ex-archivist writing the episode should have mentioned this. The references to the past was mainly relating to her affair with Mike in 1983. He seems to have forgotten. Did not ring true tonight. Sorry as I am a big fan!

Agree with jlighthi. I was thinking exactly the same thing, especially after Ken made that speech in the courtroom about other people being deceitfull & lying.
I was waiting for Dreary (sorry Deirdre) to bring up Wendy Crozier during the argument with Ken, but she never said a word! Strange.

Ken isnt as white as snow. I can recall two affairs he had, the hairdesser who had a son, and when he ran a free newspaper. I can't remeber the names.

Dedire has had a string of them though since was was with Ken, There was Mike, the Morocan guy she got married to, the fake airline pilot and one of fling with Dev.

To be fair to Deirdre she had loving relationships with the pilot (well she thought she was) and Samir - the moroccan. She was in no other relationships at the time. So you cannot call them "affairs" as such. When Deirdre came back from looking after her mother years ago when it looked like Kena dn deirdre might get back together, Ken was with Denise the hairdresser.

Ken is absolutely not whiter than white. That is why his outburst showed a quite ridiculous lack of research from the writers.

She married Samir - that's why she's Deidre Rashid. And she was setting up home with the airline pilot. Both of them were AFTER her divorce from Ken - which came about because of his long affair with Wendy Crozier - he was given the choice of giving up Wendy and staying with Deidre, but he wanted both of them so left Deidre and went to live with Wendy. Deidre's only been unfaithful to Ken twice. He'd got a bloody cheek doing the holier than thou bit. Ok, she had a one-afternoon stand with Dev - but he lied about Wendy Crozier for months, and Deidre was a councillor at the time and got the blame for leaking news stories to him.

Yes but that fits in with her selfish me me character. She even went back with Dev for god's sake. She only cares about herself and that was realisitc and well done. It was Ken who was badly written! Tracey was great!

It's strange that even the scriptwriters and everyone there "forgot" about Wendy Crozier, as Granada Plus were running those eps from 1989/90 only last year! And I've been following the G+ epsiodes for quite a while now, and the whole thing deeply upset Ken, Tracy & Diedre, so the fact that all three seem to have myteriously forgot about it is very strange. And chances are during that time Diedre would have told all to her mother over the phone so even Blanche would probabally know something about it.
