Are Emma & Louisa too similar?

Nah, I don't think so. Emma is quite mature, tall and has got poise. Louisa is very young and short and will never look as elegant as Emma imo . I like her in Enders but not that keen in the SCD roll,( comes across as a bit giddy) maybe it's something to do with me not liking Vincent much.

I don't know if there similar but they both have the air of people who have been to stage school, Billie Piper has it too. (Not meant as an insult before I get leapt on!)
The only EastEnders connection my brain is making is that Emma B auditioned for the part of Bianca Jackson, which eventually went to Patsy Palmer. I believe it was a close-run thing as well, I understand she was narrowly pipped at the post. It's hard to imagine Emma in that particular role now.

I don't think I've seen enough of Emma and Louisa to form an opinion on whether they are too similar. I must confess, the stage school thing can sometimes irritate me, but I think these two ladies have acquitted themselves quite well on the show so far.

opinions are great, but some of the forumites are aggressive at times, really spoils the whole thing. I agree with critical analysing/apprasal but, spats at each other is not on.

Emma is a fully grown woman, who appears to be happy in her own skin, Louisa is still a young girl (who quite frankly is barely legal). I just think all the sexy stuff with Louisa looks completly wrong, I just cringing at the thought of L&V doing the Rumba.

Actually the difference in maturity is another real difference. Louisa is obviously finding the sexy moves of the salsa a bit embarassing, which I expect a lot of them might, but at 17 that must be a bit difficult, particularly with an older man like Vincent, who I expect will want to play the sexy italian angle for all its worth. What might make it a bit sleazy if the fact that Louisa comes across as a quite young 17 year old, if you know what I mean.

Know exactly what you mean!

I don't watch EastEnders what is her charater like?, If she can manage scenes in EastEnders I am surprised she can't project a acting side into SCD

I don't rate her as an actress. In most of her emotional scenes she just looks like a frightened rabbit. But that may just be her age. When she gets older her acting style might mature and we'll see a different side.

As far as the dancing goes, she's doing a good job with the Latin and a not so good job with the Ballroom. She still looks like she's clinging on a bit.

I can see what the OP is getting at and there are certainly similarities personality wise. I can see Emma being a bit like what Louisa is now at her age so maybe that's where it comes from.

They're not identical at all, but not all that far apart either...

Anyone agree?
*Sticks hand in air about the paraphet* Yes, I think there are similarities. In personality and in general style. However, I don't think or wish they had chosen two different celebs. I just wish that the judges wouldn't have already decided that these two are finalists and had made that decision on week 1. I don't think they are really that much better than a some other contestants. Both however are through no fault of their own "teachers' pets" with the judges and this may eventually be their downfall with the public. Remember Zoe.

Exactly claire, couldn't have put it better myself!
Yes, there are obvious differences, but you'd say they were more similar than Louisa and Carol for example (just plucking a name at random - no comment meant on either of them!). I don't know why, but there you go.
I wouldn't say they are _too_ similar though and also wouldn't have wished for two different celebs.
