In the unlikely event you come across a dead pixel on your HD TV, does your guarantee cover a replacement? I've seen a guarantee which excludes daed pixels.

It is usually dependent on the manufacturer and there definition of the problem, more than say 5 dead pixels would be unacceptable to manufacturer A and will trigger a service response but perhaps more may be required by manufacturer B.

There is an ISO standard for this.

That said, dead pixels are pretty rare. If it's dead on arrival you may be able to use distance selling regs.

I had problems with my PC LCD Monitor and sent it back, but the replacement they sent had 'dead' pixels (3 to be exact), as stated before the industry standard is 5. Luckily I had looked it up and when the guy asked how many I just said 7, that is when he told me that 5 were acceptable.
It also depends where they are on the screen aswell, aslong as there is not more than 1 in the center of the viewing area.

It actually worked. The retailer my brother bought the set from would not offer a replacement on his Toshiba 32WLT66 despite their being about 6 dead pixels on his screen and they told him it is standard to expect some dead pixels on some LCD screens. No it is not! But anyway, this software provided a perfect solution.

How can a piece of software/video repair a dead pixel? If it's dead, it's dead!

It doesn't appear to repair dead pixels..it just rejuvenates the screen.
