I thought he did an amazing job of that. I was sat biting my lip thinking.. please don't talk Brendan... they want you to retort... please don't and he didn't I thought Tess would concentrate on Claire instead but she didn't

Kaos you may have tamed the man!!We know from LI he has a fuse that ignites when necessary but we also know from it that he has a good heart.I still think the BBC are making him appear in a bad light which is not right.

I thought he did incredibly well, I'm still incredibly annoyed with the way Tess spoke to him, it was personal and totally not needed.

I think that is why he did walk away Kaos - so well done for giving him that tip. Isn't that the best thing to do rather than say something he might regret. Anyway, I doubt if he went that far away - just off camera to count up to 10. Tess was making a big thing out of it as she did when she aked him what he thought of Emma's marks. I thought the treatment he received today wasn't far short of mobbing. Good for Arlene for not joining in and for toning down her Mark comments. Along with Tess, Bruno had apparently also had instuctions to try to make him flip out - what was his hostility all about.

I think I must have missed what Tess said, can someone tell me what it was ?

I also thought that Brendan was very restrained whilst facing the judges. I'm sure he was itching to say something but held his tongue which must have been very hard for him. Well done to Brendan for not rising to their bate

I sincerely hope the judges don't get their wish tonight and get rid of Brendan and Claire

I think we are off course here. I for one am not complaining about Brendan's behavious to the judges this week, just his ghastly choice of choreography and music and the way he seemed to let his partner down, letting her get on with it and doing little to help.

Two factors to remember here:
1) They were told yesterday to tone down the routine so 5 days of work had to be rethought and changed so lets be honest some of that dance was only 24 hours old.

2) The judges from last week were still bitter about last week! You could see they were waiting for him to fail and I think the bad vibes got to him. I think that the judges might have been something to do with the producers decision!

I agree that the judges seem to have an agenda against Brendan, not good.

It was just awful! Terrible choreography, music, everything. They deserve to go.

I thought the marks were completely deserved tonight and his petulant sulk made him look silly. Even my dad who knows nothing about dancing at all mentioned that it wasn't good and all she'd really done was walk.

I remember Claire saying MUCH earlier in the week when she was on ITT that they had already toned down the routine so I'm sure they had plenty of time to sort it. It just wasn't that good and Brendan basically said the only reason they were marked down was because of what he said last week. Nonsense.

Even this week, even Jan who is considered the weakest celeb left, did well. It's hardly an outrage that Brendan and Claire were placed last.

For those who didn't listen to the interactive commentary, here's some of the comments (for I can't do shorthand and can't write down everything fast enough)

Already have this feminie and muscline look...she totally get into character (James)... this is one of the most natural salsa action I've ever seen (Philip)...they're such a couple, looks like they've been dancing for years (Philip)... lots of nice little action... nice to see the music compliment (James)...Great finish (both)
Doesn't sounds bad, does it?

He seemed to have forgotten to do any salsa amongst all the gyrating.

We know he can choreograph a sexy routine within the confines of the dance - he did so with the rumba and jive.

That is ___ sorry but it is . Why what did they tell him to do a rehashed variation of the Racheal Hunter Rumba from the Xmas special with the odd Salsa move put in

But the expert commentry said different Claire - see luckyforest's post above. It seems the judges do have quite some influence on the viewers' perception of a performance.

Thanks for that... I agree that Claire does have a natural salsa action.. very womanly and natural hip movement.. I thought that from seeing the training earlier in the week and in the group mambo in week 1. Great to hear some different perspective.

The judges had an influence on viewer perception BEFORE they even said a word?

Damn they're good...

How do you know when people decided they didn't like the routine Claire. I'm sure if the viewers had heard these comments first and not those of the judges they might percieve the routine differently.

Well I was with a number of viewers and since they're all intelligent adults they are capable of making up their own minds and I was hearing many a comment saying she was doing too much walking and not a lot dancing, that there didn't seem to be a lot of content, that they didn't look that good etc... whilst they were dancing.

If what the judges said truly had a vast influence on the public in a negative way then we wouldn't have had a situation so far where the bottom couple had stayed in every week.
