The expert commentary is rarely rude about anyone. the first week I listened to it they commended Georgina on her rumba.

but from the few clips we have seen the original would have been fantastic

so I based my vote on that not the rushed routine they were forced to do

I cant understan why they were told to tone it all down

you see much worse in music videos on the music channels

For Brendan and Claire to be told to change their choreography at the eleventh hour seriously detracted from the routine. One of the moves that I think Claire would have performed would have involved her walking across Brendan with her legs walking forward either side of his body lying prostrate on the floor (Cue Brucie saying "Please! I'll clear this place!"). This was a move used in the US Dancing with the Stars, although that was usually shown after 8pm. Instead Claire seemed to take a detour completely around Brendan. The irony is that the BBC showed some "banned" moves in the VT, but couldn't allow them to do so in the live performance. Ah well.

I am grateful that Claire and Brendan have another chance to show what they can do. Their Rumba was a teasing glimpse of their potential. Let's hope that next week that they can go one better and deliver a knockout performance.

I thought it was rubbish before I heard the judges comments. There was nothing to it, just lots of walking and posing. If Brendan had choreographed a 'proper' salsa they wouldn't have had to change so much. Salsa is generally considered to be a sexy dance, so I don't see why Brendan felt he needed to raunch it up so much in response to the judges comments last week. If he had done his job properly it would have been sexy and we would have actually got to see Claire dance. I think the score was quite generous! They should have gone this week.

Brendan was bang on with his comments last week, but I think his bad attitude this week has lost him a lot of the viewers good will - it sounded like the audience supported Bruno when he said Claire and Brendan should go, and I don't think I've ever heard them applaud those comments!!

What bad attitude did Brendan have this week glitterfairy?
I thought he was very restrained and I was pleased to see that the judges seem to have taken on board what he said - Arlene was certainly less explicit in her praise of Mark and Len kept his comments to the performance. I was also pleased that olive branches were offered from both sides at the end.
Brendan and Claire's routine wasn't good but we don't know how much that was down to having to change it with only 24 hours to go, especially as Claire has problems picking up new choreography. But that is nothing to do with bad attitude - it is just bad dancing.
If you are talking about what he said about Emma - he didn't actually say anything about them. He was just questioning whether it is necessary to teach the proper technique as it doesn't seem that important to the judges. It was Emma who took it that way and felt it was directed entirely against them (although I'm not sure that wasn't just the tabloid press fabricating an argument). Or is it because he appeared twice on TV last week - he never mentioned Emma's marks there either.
I just hope the BBC lets this die down now - they have had their press coverage pushing the X factor off the front pages with it, now it is time to move on. I thought mentioning it so often last night to the extent of even devoting Emma's video clip to it was not right. It will not do anything to help the atmosphere of the show. I'm sure Emma and Brendan have sorted out the misunderstanding and it really shouldn't concern anyone else now.

I felt sorry for Claire. She does get some awful costumes- like the bra & dressing gown one -and last night's made her look ill.
They are right when they say Brendan should concentrate on her,he's lucky she hasnt gone home by now with all this immature carry on.

She dances very well & he's not making the best of her- which is perverse of him as he is such a good dancer.

Me too. I was disappointed - I was hoping they'd do well so the judges could give them fair praise. As it was,I'd've been disappointed with effusive praise.

According to Craig on TV this morning, he considers Claire to be the worst celebrity left. If that is the case, why do the judges keep going on about how good she is and why doesn't Brendan make more use of her skills. He brought up Brendan again of couse with the attention seeking, spouting rubbish , LI didn't last long enough for Brendan stuff we have heard before.
One interesting point was that Jan was very angry with him (Craig) when he went up to her to commiserate and her husband got quite aggressive and kept pushing him. It sounds like feelings were running very high.

probably because craig said it was her best dance and gave her same as last week!!

I thought I was the only one who thought this! I can't understand why they go on & on about how sexy she is ~ and Tess calling her a "powerhouse of womanhood last night! She is a bit awkward looking when she moves, and I'd agree that she's the worst celeb dancer still in the comp (closely followed by Matt)

He stormed off during the scoring. I think his comments were justified last week, but I am sure to some of the audience and viewers it seems like it's always one thing or another with Brendan. The other professionals seem to handle criticism much better than he does.

Their routine was lack lustre. They had all the elements to make it a good dance (music, posture, connection) but the choreography let them down big time. I found it a bit embarrassing to watch - it was sleazy rather than sexy. She just didn't look at all comfortable to me. I think Claire can do well but Brendan needs to let go of the ego a bit and concentrate on bringing the best out of her instead of passing the blame onto the judges.
