If it was a costume fault, like bra strap snapping, tripping over hem and it being ripped etc, you do not get a restart as it is just considerd "bad luck" - this is what happens in all dance competitions.

Although I must say, to prevent further technical problems with mikes, can't Bruce and Tess have hand held mikes they can use to talk to contestants with?

It would be a lot easier!”

God, from when I first started watching this thing in series2 I couldn't understand having MIKES of all things strapped to you!! As if it wasn't all hard enough.

You all noticed Brucie had a hand held mike when he came back on after the dance. What's the problem with him and Tess having one, after all, the dancers are only going to say a couple of things if that.

Exactly with the intricate and frankly delicate look of some of the costumes the dancers wear its silly to wear a mic, now look what's happened as a result. Hopefully the BBC will reconsider the decision of wearing a mic.

The producers probably think holding an old fashioned mike would not give the right image to the programme...very 'amateurish' and in our face. It is of course the best thing to do.

I certainly would not want to dance with a piece of technical hardware attached to me. Not exactly something to get you in the mood for an intimate sexy dance.

Ironic really, considering what happened Saturday made them look even more amateurish !

See, I didn't even notice the handheld mic I'm sure it wouldn't detract from the show to use handhelds and you wouldn't risk further disasters like Saturday.

I know, lots of other shows have handheld mics, it won't detract from the format at all. This need to be all high-tech only results in the chaos of unscripted tv.

If his "mic" had been working would we have heard him saying "Hot, Hot, Hot" as he danced ... oh to be a microphone ... Maryjay (embarassed now)
