I think that these too are favoured too much, and the judges are giving some high scores even when they've all blatently said she made some mistakes and her footwork isn't up to scratch.

But when someone does a fool proof dance and has good technique the judges slate them and give them lower scores.

Ok I don't see the point to this thread at all. There are so many with people saying how they hate Emma and Darren, why not just join one of those. I does have technique and her footwork couldn't have been that bad, surely. With Darren by her side I think she's doing fine! I don't see why everyone has a problem with her at all.

Well... Can any Emma fan honestly say her performance tonight was worth only one point less than Ray and Camilla's?

Funny how Lousia, who the BBC will see as Emma/Charity CIN CD&Video/ Bunton's greatest rival for the "pop vote" seemed unfairly marked down. But there you go....

I could have but I chose to display my personal opinion. Nothing wrong with that and there was absolutely no need to critise me on it as we are all entitled to it, as is it not what this forum is for. Or are we just meant to sit and agree with each other and make this place boring?

Actually, I think the fact that a couple of the judges favour this couple so much is working very much against them. They are not coming across as a couple having a good time, improving and enjoying the experience, rather as two icy individuals, desperate to win. The public are not buying into the myth of Darren and Emma, no matter how much the judges want them too. They will be in the same position as Zoe last year, although, to be fair, I think Zoe was actually better, her partnership was stronger and she improved each week.

Both Emma and Ray were brilliant and they both deserve high scores for their performances. It seems to me that you just want to cauase tension amnd slate Emma and Darren for all you can Doghouse Riley. Your perosnal opinion? fine but at least let us Emma and Darren fans do the same, without coming back with some unwitty remark.

Actually as someone who teaches the viennese waltz I would say Emma and Darren were on a par with Ray and Camillas, so if anything were slightly undermarked . Ithink the marking tonight actually was very fair.

Interestingly I also teach salsa, and I think Louisa's mark was about right too. The salsa is all about connection between the couple,and that was lacking, maybe she was a bit embarassed given her age, Idon't know, but I have seen that happen. And the judges were right about Vincent not looking passionate too, although I am not comfortable with the judges criticising the professionals at all.

Looking at the leader board, I have no problem at all with the top three, and think the rest of it is roughly right too. I have just been talking to another professional who thinks the marks are right too!

Whtas your point? Because I fully undertsand that. I was expressing my personal opinion that I thought this thread was a bit pointless, as the competition is unpredictable. I was not in anyway at all suggesting it. I know this is an open forum, and it seems to me when certain people express opinions people 'jump' on them so to speak. I wans't even criticising for the starting of the thread so i don't see where you point is coming from? Me reading my own posts, ok question for you. Do you read yours? Two can play that game

Any "tension" is self induced just because I have a different opinion than yours. This is an "open forum" get used to it.

I think it would be fairer to judge on tonights performance to be honest, and not harp back to last week, because we have moved on from that. The judges tonight did not all blatantly criticise footwork, so I assume you are still referring to last weeks performance. Their viennese waltz tonight, as I said earlier, was beautiful, and to do that in a week is fantastic.

I was mearly making a personal opinion that I thought there were other threads just like this where SOME people just seem to be slating Emma and Darren! And the people that seem to be backing them up aswell?

What ruined; for many of us, the original SCD DS forum was the number of "let's have a go at those we don't like" threads.

It was a very good Vienese Waltz. Better than most tonight & worthy of the marks it got. I haven't had chance to see Ray & Camilla's rendition: I have to cok some time when I'm at home, but I may feel that it was better than Darren & Emma's performance or I might not. However, I would never think of opening a thread with the sole purpose of having a go at any of the couples. Smacks far too much of rudeness; if not a touch of the vendetta, to me.

I think Emma and Darren (like a lot of us) actually misjudged the strength of the competition. Who would have thought Mark and Ray would have been this far in front at this stage of the series? Personally, I think this week was the first week where Emma did look as if she'd done some work and was beginning to take the competition seriously. Her experience helped her a lot in the first couple of shows. However, if she really wants to win this thing she's going to have to start practicing as hard as the others.

I am sure she now realises what she has to do, Laura, and the amount of work it will take to stay in, so that can only be good for the show in the long run, and for her dance experience as a whole. So let's give her the same chance to impress now as the rest.

Thanks Glen. I purely put that in a nice way just to not upset people, as some people are extremely senseitive. I was also making a point that their seems to be too many negative threads about Emma and Darren, yet we are not allowed to express our opinion as an Emma and Darren fan. This forum does seem extremely biased against certain couples in particular, I'd better stop there I think before I cause too much trouble... I loved both renditions of the VW. You can criticise us and call us synical all you want, but we won't back down, seeing as that maybe what some of you want. Call me what you like but your not stopping me from expressing my opinion.

The BBC should have had her as a competitor on SCD or do the "Charity video" not both, it will distort the voting.
But the BBC don't care. They think by combining the two it'll boost the ratings of the programme because of their obsession with beating ITV on Saturday nights.
They obviously don't care the effect that it will have on the competion or the chances of the other competitors. I also don't think she's that brilliant (just an opinion) and will get all the help and assistance to stay in the competition from the BBC they can give, until at least after CIN on 17th November

So I posted something else on a diffferent one. Then some smart assed comments to me on that new thread someone had started were made by someone who'd followed me over from the original thread. So tonight I posted my opinions on yet another thread, the necessity for which you were querying.
Now "Emma fans" can't have it both ways. If they don't like my comments on this third thread then tough, I've done as much "accomodating" as I'm prepared to do.

I mentioned earlier that I think the BBC see Louisa as the biggest rival to their "favourite" Emma for the "pop" vote.

In tonight's result show, clips of comments made by the judges were shown for each competitor , as Bruce said; "to help the viewers make up their minds"
The clips would obviously be chosen by the producer.
A really negative one was used for Lousia and a very positive one for Emma.
Both girls received both negative and positive comments from some of the four judges after their performances.

Anyone want to say the BBC aren't showing bias?
