... And yet IMO it has the highest standard of dancing so far. I'd really like to see a change of judges. I've forgotten his name, but that chap who does the live commentary (press your red button) would be a fabulous head judge. Fair and consistent.

I know several people aren’t so happy about this run and feel it needs a shake up.

I am enjoying this series but not as much as previous ones - somehow it seems less fun.....

We need more people like Julian Clary - who don't take it too seriously!!

Tasi you've hit the nail on the head - there is just "something not right" about this series I am finding it difficult to get "excited" about it in the way I have the others.
I think it has a lot to do with the judges in-house fighting (leave that behaviour to the X factor) and maybe because the standard of dancing IS so good there isn't the progression that there has been in the other years - Carol Smillie excepted who is making steady progress. Too many of the celebs were "good dancers" before it started so the comedy (for want of a better word) element wasn't there as it was with the other three series eg David Dickinson Quentin Wilson Julian Clary etc

Just take it for what it is : entertainment with a little money thrown in for charity.
The celebs enjoy it, so why can't you.
In the end it is not the most important thing in life.

I'm loving this series, mainly because it's so unpredictable!

Exactly, a lot of people see difference as boring, and tbh I think crap dancers in past series kind of ruined it a little bit, what with the same thing every week from julian clary (how he made the final I'll never know) and Chris Parker rooted to the floor, the fact that there are so many brilliant dancers this year, emma and mark for example, makes you wonder, who is going to win, that's the excitement!!!!!

I think the dancing is brilliant and really it doesn't need to be a competition now.
I'd like to see all these dancers do all the dances up to Christmas and give them all a glitterball with a bit of plastic stuck on.

I think they should all stay in and it be like a league! The top of the league wins!

You've summed it up in 1 Tasi!

I can't be bothered to record it if I'm out for the evening... and I'm the lady who for the last 3 years has organized friends family and life around SCD and ITT.

It's the judges who are spoiling it. I say get that sensible bloke from the live feed commentary in as head judge and some pro dancers to give honest CONSTRUCTIVE criticism and advice on how to work on weak areas.
personal remarks should be banned.

I can't see this show doing well in the ratings if they get another season out of it.

Fleckerl I agree with you. I also used to record every SCD programme when it was on. My Saturday nights revolved around the series. This time it is all different. The standard of dancing is undoubtedly higher, but I am just not enjoying the series as much as previously. I no longer record anything, as there is rarely anthing that I want to watch again, even though I may be entertained a little whilst watching it.

I think there are less celebs that I actually like or care about this year, not sure why, but for me, the biggest let down has been the judges and their behaviour and marking. More than anything else, I want them all to be changed next time, if there is a next time. There are plenty of people out there, who know their subject, and Peter ? (the one on the live feed) seems an ideal starting point.

I love to watch dancing, and I want the series back next year, but it will have more credibility and a new lease of life, if they change the judging panel. Not least to give the show a fresh perspective, and to prevent those that are currently occupying that position, from becoming complacent, and therefore less professional in the way that they behave on national tv.

All in all, the judges have ruined what is a very successful formula, and I do not want to see a dancing programme like this banished to the annals of BBC history.

I'm still enjoying it, but they will need to address the pros concerns and a few other things (camerawork, Tess' dressmaker, Arlene's medication etc.) before the next series begins.

I'm not enjoying it so much either, but for me it's more to do with the fact that we already seem to have a runaway winner in Mark - at least if the voting on this forum is anything to go by. For the others it seems just a question of the order in which they disappear now. In previous years we've had uncertainty right up to the end.

But I also agree that the judges have spoilt things somewhat. They seem to have become too self-important and should remember they're not the stars of the show. And Bruno and Len should decide whether they're going to judge in America or the UK and stick to one or the other.

I agree about Mark & Karen needing rivals - four couples are closing in on them or have the potential to (which is a first I suppose), but I can't see anyone catching them at the moment (and that is from a straight male who doesn't worship Karen and doesn't fancy Mark!)
