How impartial is the judging?
Has anyone observed that before they cast their votes the judges may be writing figures on the sheet in front of Len?
I noticed last night because Craig had to lean across Arlene on an occasion to do it. It could only have been a "figure" due to the time he took to write it. Does this mean Len knows what the rest of the panel are scoring before he decides on his own vote? Each judge has a terminal with which they vote and surely the voting should be impartial so there is no need to confer in any event. I know Len rarely gives less than "five" but sometimes his scores seem way out of line with the others. Is there some sort of "averaging" up or down going on in certain cases? |

They write their scores down to give to the voice over who reads them out. If they did it at the time there could be technical problems so the written sheet is the score given despite what paddles are held up. |

Unless it was Emma of course.... The BBC had to let them (or any couple) dance again because of the tangle of the microphone lead, it wouldn't matter if Mark had fallen on his face moments before. There'd have had a national "hue and cry" because it is perfectly obvious that there is no necessity to carry a microphone and transmitter pack while dancing. The only reason the producers insist on this is to avoid Bruce or Tess having to hold a hand microphone when interviewing them when they come off. It's just "production department interference." The dancers should refuse to wear them next week. It's not a dance problem, it is one of a technical nature, let the BBC sort it out. Last edited by Doghouse Riley : 05-11-2006 at 11:34. |

As I said on the other thread, simply put it to the other contestants and if any object out the couple go simple as that. If Karen and Mark had departed last night after all the phone votes were amde it there would have been a right uproar. Still we could have enjoyed another 7 weeks of the rubbish Brendan produced last night to compensate.

anybody who had the disaster that mark and karen had would have been allowed to start again
there indeed would have been an uproar and i'm sure none of the other couples would have wanted it any other way. it wasn't their fault and they went on to give a great performance at second asking so ...well done to them both! |
