I am sorry to say this, but I think Bruce has lost it. What was once endearing, after all he is a national treasure, is now stale as last year's mince pies and silly too. Tess is now like his carer and it's all going a bit pear shaped.

I disagree, watching him live last week I have to say he is so professional, and then again last night, the show would have fell apart had he not been there to pick up the pieces after the mic incident

When brucie reads the scripted stuff he is terrible. When he has to think on his feet he is great. The Karen and Mark mic incident, bruce was great!

Nah, I love the ol duffer! He showed this week what an old pro he is, keeping the programme flowing, and making it funny!

Yeah I think he handled the acciendent really well... Don't really think some people would have handled the situation that well...

But I agree I can't stand him most of the time... Sometimes it can make me laugh... Others I'm just like ohhh no...

Oh yeah, he's always behind the little thing they read off, and tbh it's slightly comical when he does, but when he makes up his own jokes and has to think on his feet, he is so professional

I can't stand Bruce either! All his jokes follow the same old routine: he delivers the line, then turns to give the audience a faux bewildered look while they give a (usually forced) titter, and pretends he didn't realise why the joke was funny. By the time he's got through all that, the joke has long ceased being funny.

Nor do I like how he sometimes repeats other people's funny lines, or overlaps what the judges are saying with his surprised little "oh" and "yes?" remarks.

I didn't mind his filling during the mic drama last night, but for the most part I find him painful to watch.

Spot on! I can't think of anyone that could have done a better job last night. Yes he rabbits a bit, but at 79yrs I think he is amazing.

Yes, fair dos you are right about the mic incident and handling the situation, but I still feel he's getting past it. however having said that, what's SCD without Bruce, so i take it back. I am just fed up with all these bickering threads about Brendan & Emma, bla, bla, bla,all blown right out of proportion and so my mind wandered. Forgive me Brucie.

I agree ~ although some of the scripted stuff is a bit lame!

It's lame, but wouldn't we all die of shock if one of his jokes was actually funny?

I think he showed what a pro he is last night. Yes, he's a bit at times but he is good at keeping a live show going, flowing, and reasonably sane.

but isn't it a bit like when you have to laugh at something your grandad says, which isn't remotely funny?! And like a grandad, you would miss him if he was gone...

I know what you mean, they are slightly depressing, but don't replace bickering threads with another one if you know what I mean

Actually I'm ashamed to say that i laughed out loud at one of his gags last night The one about a firm hold & Len keeping hold of Arlene!

I think I would miss him if he went ~ Tess I could live without, whats happened to her this series? She's immensely irritating

He's an absolute gem - they don't make them like that anymore. Who could you think of amongst today's presenters who could possibly replace him?

Actually... that was quite a good one....

you are right, no one could replace him but he does get on ones nerves a bit. Actually my grandparents have long departed but Bruce does remind me of an Uncle with a combover and really bad jokes. He is in a home now???

Right at the beginning of the show.

Actually, be honest Rita, I laugh at most of his jokes, and love it when he says "you're my favourites", silly old thing that I am.
