As most of us on this thread seem to think that we need fresh blood on the judges table next time. I thought I'd start a thread on the subject.

John Byrne (from series 1 danced with Claire Sweeney)

Paul Killick

The man who does the commentary on the red button

Not sure of a women

Anyone playing this game with me ?

Should Karen ever decide to expand her family and be unable to dance, I think she would be a good and fair judge.

I adore Craig, Bruno and Len - and Arlene is good for a laugh, even though her marks seem to be a function of her hormones.

Definitely Killer & Philip Jackson..... inspired choice

Then there's Karen Hardy ..... if she wins this year as she looks like doing so far, she could hang up her dancing shoes and would be a great asset to the panel

Also...... can't remember her name, but what about the woman on SDF who always slags off Elvira, Mistress of the Dark (aka Arlene Phillips)

can we not just make anton one of the judges and let craig go
please??!!!???!!!
but i couldn't replace len or arlene
could we have julian clary instead of bruno i 'm beginning to think he would actualy know more about dancing than bruno does

I think Karen would make a great judge if she decided not to dance

I had thought about the women off SDF but had no idea of her name

Karen would be brilliant... I think having any of the professionals from any of the series would be brilliant...

The judges did not offend me this week,

I think the producers have had a word with the dancers and judges to ensure the focus stays on the competition and as a family show I do not think the presentators will be allowed to let it get to the stage it got to last week.

I heard somewhere that Brendan judges SCD in New Zealand. mind you not such a good idea here if Len is on the panel.

I like the thought of Paul Killick, Jason Gardener (judged Strictly Dance fever) Len and Karen Hardy.

My choices would be Karen, Red-Button-Guy (his name has escaped me- sorry!), Len and maybe Anton if he ever decides to hang up his dancing shoes?

The other judges from SDF are Stacey Haynes, Ben Richards and Wayne Sleep.
The red button guy is Philip Jackson.

Much as I think we'd get better overall comments on the actual dancework from an all-professional panel, I do think someone should represent the light entertainment side.

I would never have replaced CRH before as this slant on things is where he excels but he's really getting on my nerves now

The judges will not change, unless any of them decide to leave of their own accord and I can't see that happening.

They are causing just the "right sort" of controversy as far as the BBC is concerned, it all helps the ratings.
The inaccuracy and partiality of their votes on occasions, is just a minor consideration.
Stop trying to turn it into a "proper" dance competition. It's just a very successful TV show.
The BBC will be more than pleased with everything that's happened, even the "wardrobe malfunction" will be in the papers on Monday.

Changes next year?
Nothing, except perhaps more naffin' competitors and an even longer number of weeks for them to beat ITV on Saturday night's ratings.

Well, you've certainly got a problem there; the BBC will see these two as their "star performers"

As I've mentioned before, they've probably got a whole team of scriptwriters composing "spontaneous" comments for them containing elements of alliteration and onomatopoeia, which they can recite after certain competitor's dances, regardless of their performances.

I don't think they will change any of the judges actually. And as is shown, different people want to replace different ones, so there is no consensus there either! Up until this week, I was getting really annoyed with Arlene's highpitched screeching, but she was about an octave lower last night, so I suppose I can live with her remarks,if she tones the leering down a bit. Bruno still irritates me as well, but he was less effusive night and didn't leap all over the place. Craig and Len I would keep anway. God preserve us from Jason Gardner please, and if your problem is having more judges with a ballroom background, why replace them with others who haven't??

Bias does go on in the ballroom world as well, usually down to who the dancers have lessons with, so it is pretty universal, and to be honest a lot of ballroom judges are not scintillating personalities, and are therefore not necessarily suited to a TV Entertainment show.

As for DR's last point, I am praying they do not have even more contestants next year and a longer series. I think it would have been better this time round to stick to 12, and run for 10 weeks, as last year. I don't think somehow they will go back to that though.

OK.

Altogether!

"Oh no it's not!"

"I'm reliably informed" that next year's series is scheduled to conclude around the beginning of March 2008.

No that's an exaggeration, it'll probably finish the week before "Strictly Dance Fever" commences, then all the other "cloned" SCD format programmes will be extended, so they can have "phone voting" which will eject some competitor or other, every Saturday night of the year.
Beat that! If you can, ITV!

You read it here first.

Just as likely to happen.

Keep Len, then take your pick. I suggest George Clooney, Brad Pitt and Jude Law. They'll talk as much sense as the others and be easier on the eye.
