Strictly Come Dieting!
I love SCD and have since series one and have lurked until this year.
I think this year is a higher standard than ever, there are 6 I would happily have in the final, and am fed up of 'BBC....change SCD' posts as I wouldn't change it for the world but alot of people on DS seem to think we all feel the same. I don't..I love it, just the way it is. So to get me off that subject and others...how gorgeous do the girls and guys look every week on SCD? I love them! Carole and Lillia and Camilla were beautiful this week (all the females were, but they stood out) and Mark and Ray.....come to Mamma! I have put a stone on over the summer (or more) and they are so inspiring me to tone up, lose weight and do a samba/quickstep/cha cha cha. So I am making it my goal to have lost a stone by the final...and be (nearly, but not quite ) as gorgeous as those guys and gals.Anyone else with me? We have 6 or so weeks to lose a stone!

I will admit to you that i was so impressed by Brendans positive attitude on LI that i decided I could do it too.The decision I made then was to loose weight!I started around the 20th Aug and with the odd fall from grace nibble days I have lost 2 and a half stone. I have a birthday at the end of the year and am planning on staying on healthy eating diet till then so I'm in with you!!And maybe try out dancing one day.
PS:my nickname has been saggy for 30 years and not cos of the weight loss!! |

Oh Coody Moo that is wonderful! It's my aim every Monday to lose a few pounds
Good luck to you and make sure you get out dancing - it really does work!!!! (At least it does for the average human being... for people like me who dance most of the day it doesn't work as my body is used to doing that much exercise - and it really sucks having to go the gym when I have 7-10 hours dancing to do afterwards!) I actually have a group of adult pupils who have taken up dance classes this term and are weighing each other every Monday night at the dance studios and taking several different dance classes a week... (they do my Tapaerobics class on Wednesdays). They are all doing so well! I think this was a lovely thread to start and I hope it benefits people! Peach x |

I've been doing it already! Except mine is for Chicago, where I am going on the 8th December and possibly will miss the final *sobs*
I started at the beginning of October and have lost 8 pounds already! 6 of them were last night with the mic debacle I think!! Mind, I could do with losing about two stone, so I might not manage that! Anyway, good luck with it!

Thanks you guys!
To be honest I am losing weight already and am doing the Rosemary Conley Salsa/GI diet and have lost two stone...my clothes are falling off me...literally as my trousers were at my ankles last week! I love it! And well done you (saggy and peach) who have also lost weight...it takes alot..I know. So you have to have goals, and that is my next goal. Another stone by the SCD final and I will be almost there...and my salsa is picking up! At first I was crap and could not follow the moves at all..but I am starting to get it! ![]() So all you guys who want to lose a bit, be inspired each week by the SCD lot and lets get a stone off before the final! Mantra to self...I will look like Karen and Lilia...I will look like Karen and Lilia.....

The biggest inspiration is to look at what your long term health will be!I have been overweight for a long time and after working with kids for too many years(!),up and down off the floor etc,I've just been told I've only got another 10-15 years before i will need a new knee. It's been sore for years and I 've always known weight does damage but suddenly it's like a reality check!!And I'm still young enough to help the rest of my body-I hope!Search deep and look for the positives and inspiration should arrive..... |

Well done to those who have lost too!
I can already feel the benefits of the weight loss! Two inches off my waist is fabulous Oh, and its funny, when you are not eating food for a while, eg, fatty breakfasts, then you have them again, they are not nearly as nice as you remember them! And the fat sticks to the roof of your mouth all day! URGH! |

Good comments by saggy there. I think you just have to want to do it. i have been overweight for ages and just decided one day that it was the time to do it, and haven't looked back since. And I only started doing the salsa this week, so loved it was on SCD, which inspired this thread. I wanted to lose weight for years, but just woke up one day and said '**** it', I have to do something about this... I believe reading elsewhere, it is called the 'lightbulb' moment. You have to want to do it....and now I never ever want to go back to wearing my saggy (sorry Saggy ) trousers again. I want to look like Karen or Camilla and dance with Ray or Mark!![]() Good luck. |

I must take up dancing of some sort. I thought I was the most unco-ordinated person on the planet until I went to a charity do where Anton, Erin, Ian and Camilla were performing this year. The band played a party samba for us masses at one point so I joined in. One man said that I was picking it up really quickly. Can't remember any of it now, though Good luck to your adult pupils. They sound like they are doing a fab job. |

I love Tap but hate fitness classes and thought it would be a great idea for adults... so I run it like an aerobic class in tap shoes to pop music I hope my adults keep up their classes - they are doing a great job!

Its just that at work every Friday, we have a "Hash brown Friday", where we go to the works canteen and have a full english fried breakfast. For four weeks, I didn't bother, then the other Friday, I thought "ah, I've been good, I deserve a treat!" and went to have one. I felt sick for the rest of the day! It certainly put me off! And yes, my clothes getting loose on me is a fabulous feeling! You have done so well, dropping 5-6 sizes is amazing! Well done!

I have changed my diet 100% and now eat no junk and no carbs-bread potatoes pasta rice etc gone- and have meat fish veg and fruit. The last 3 very rarely featured in my old diet. one day i hope to feel slim enough to venture to try salsa. |
