So, just off the top of my head...those who want to...maybe we should record our weigh in's each Saturday in conjunction with SCD? (Not how much we weigh btw...just our loss from this week...I'm not saying how much i weigh!)

I may lie and say i lost 8 pounds this week...but I have 5 days of trying to perfect Mark's salsa so maybe I may lose some!

I'll have to be a day late, my weigh in is on Sunday - I don't get to the gym on Saturday! But I'm in with that!

There is no hard and fast rules...just play it by ear...the aim is a weight loss you, me and we all individually want by the final. A stone will be good for me! Maybe less or more for others....this thread is just to spur us on..I need a bit of help with the whole party season coming.

We can all help each other.

Just my imagination of dancing with Mark or Ray might help me lose a pound or two.

Good luck everyone.

This is very cool!

I'm off to bed now, but I am thrilled you started this thread, Coody - it's always better to do this with support of others!

Bye all! xxx

NO FAIR!

I'm going to sulk.

I joined the ballroom soc in the first year, then my partnet decided he didn't want to do it anymore and I was too shy (believe it or not....) to find another.

Then in my 2nd and 4th years it clashed with other stuff and in my 3rd year I was in Russia (long commute!)

So I only ever got one lesson

Waltz and cha cha cha if I recall correctly.

Grrr.

*sulk* lol

We started teaching the Society in 2005. The teacher before us retired and asked us to take over so last year was our first year. (She was probably the lady who taught you) It's lovely this year having some of our beginners in the improvers class As we went home after the first week we caught one of our couples (who we had actually awarded 'Beginners of the Year' at the Easter Ball) practising their new steps in the street outside the pub!!!!

The Ballroom is booked on Tuesday so there are no classes this week so instead the society are having a Boat Party - I'm hoping to gate crash if my kids' exams finish on time!

re the weight... I just want to lose "some"... I'm not fat exactly - just always used to be slim and carrying more weight than I am used to/than I like to.

It's a pain trying to get the exercise because I have ME so I have to be really careful not to overdo it.

I also want to get my fat percentage (yuck! yeah my scales measure that too) a little lower.

I really want to lose a load of weight too. I am probably doing my first dance competition in 2 weeks time and my team dance is the jive so wobbly bits will be wobbling full on! I'm not huge but i want to go from a size 14 to a 10/12 but am terrible as sticking at losing weight so maybe this place will help with that.

The more I watch Strictly the more eager I am to take dance lessons. I know I won't last long in a class the weight i am now! I'd love to lose some weight by the end of the year. I'm gonna try and start exercising regularly again from tommorrow

Coody Mow,I am in for a Saturday weigh in.

I'm sitting here drinking my miso soup as read in one of the weekly mags last week that having it for breakfast speads up the metabolism. Will report later i week if that's correct!Quite a nice taste really!

There is a website I found mentioned on another forum. It is called sparkpeople.com.Lots of motivational emails, diet tips, and exercise suggestions.would highly reccommend a look to you all.

Have a good day and power to your will power-so to speak!

Only just found this thread as I was out yesterday. Coody Mow you're an inspiration. I have just ordered the Shape Up and Salsacise DVD and will be trying it out. I'm currently size 20 and also have a wonky knee but hopefully it will get better if I lose some weight. I'm definitely in for a Saturday weight loss post.

Hey, I was thinking, with the mentione of a salsacise DVD - if people could recommend dance type exercise vids they have enjoyed... I know I far prefer dancing type ones to *spit* aerobics!

LOL - I'm not giving my weight on here, but its a stone or two more than you sarah!

I've worked out all I need to lose to get within my ideal, and a good BMI, and I have to lose about 50 pounds!

I've lost 8 of those, so just 42 left! No problem! lol

Well done!!

I don't really know how much I want to lose, so I didn't really know how else to keep a record...

I need to work out my BMI.

Mostly I just want to feel a bit more comfortable with myself again. Was skinny as a rake growing up and I don't appreciate having SO many wobbly bits...

edit: on the plus side, I think I've lost about 6 pounds over the last few months

Well you'll laugh but last night before I finally went to bed, I put on Shakiras Tango, and just danced, wobbling my wobbly bits! I thought that this might help tone them all up! Luckily only the dog got to see!
