Tamm, the ryvitas got part munched but i did have some crisps and 2 biscuits too!Hope you resisted the choc machine...

Thanks for the 'temporary home' Coody Mow.I have added it to my 'favourites'!

I read in yesterdays Daily Mail that 2 eggs for breakfast can stave off the munchies longer than anything else.I tried it today wth toast and I certainly felt more satisfied for much longer! So I may have them a few times in the next week.

I was incredibly bored at work so had a packet of crisps. Dunno why I go for crisps since I don't actually like it! I think it was because I didn't get my usual porridge this morning. But I just did 3.3 km on the treadmill and managed to burn 290 calories so am not even bothered about the crisps anymore

Eggs are great...well, any lean protein is good for you as they tend to have the highest thermic effect of any other food. Coupled with the right carbs and fat, your body can literally become a fat burning machine.

I have eaten far too much today. i think the actual food was OK, just too much of it. No booze tonigth but friend staying tomorrow night so alcohol inevitable

Did walk home again and plan an exercise session nthe morning so not all bad

LOL,Sounds like my weekend but take out the cheese and add meat...craving meat ... But I aim to start the HER on Tues as it'll be a month until my friend's wedding and and I want to lose a bit more again and a month is not along time to stick to HER for.

cymrugirl,I'd give anything to have your strength of mind towards maintaining your healthy lifestyle.I take my hat off to you,you are amazing.

It's not really that amazing.
I do indulge in chips and pizza, though I just don't eat a lot of it and I do try to fit in as much exercise as I can. I'm also scared to get diabetes (as it runs in the family) so it's always in the back of my mind. If you saw me 3 years ago, I had absolutely no will power!

I do think you have such a good mental state. You have 'flipped' the switch permenantly it would appear.I am the daughter of a diabetic and have always relied upon the theory that it 'skips a generation'...
However,I have lost the weight to put myself in a lower risk group for all the modern medical reasons-gall stones(fair, fat and 40),my knees, blood pressure(was borderline) ,etc, but I have lost my self will to refrain from overeating which I had lots of when I was losing the 4 st.
I also now do the minimal exercise which is no help what so ever!
And what I want to knows is how can a stomach live on so little when I am on a diet and eat so much when I am not?One of life's mysteries...lol.

Losing the weight to put yourself in a lower risk group is fantastic saggy1!
I really believe positive thinking helps. The more I beat myself up over things,I find I am more prone to bingeing, hence why I try to stay positive and if I do something bad I just let it go and get back to being healthy again. But I have to say, the treadmill my hubby got me for my b'day is fantastic! I hate running but I just zone out when I'm on it. It's the best birthday present ever!

I hate the thought of a treadmill but I am loving all the wlaking I am doing for similar reasons, exercise and a chance to daydream at the same time

Been trying very very hard to lose lots of weight - was managing the healthy careful eating no problem and joined the gym swimming loads and doing treadmill Xtrainer (which is pure torture) but the minute I joined slimming world nearly two weeks ago I feel under pressure only lost 3lbs in my first week - hoping for a bigger weight loss this week

Tango Trish,3lbs is more than enough in one week.Anymore would be too much.As is often said on here, 2lbs a week is the most you should lose as slower weight loss is better for your body.
Some people find being weighed weekly by an organisation helps them stay on the right path HER (Healthy Eating Regime not diet as cymrugirl recommends that it is better for us mentally)wise,I am not one of those and it sounds like you may not be one either as if you can do the exercise and eat healthily when not being supervised then you are onto a winner and don't need to pay to lose weight or put the extra pressure on yourself which seems to have an adverse effect on you...
Join us in here instead for support, suggestions, recipies, and great companionship. We are a great diet aid,and we don't cost a penny!

We used to weigh in on a Monday in here but that seems to have slipped somewhat but perhaps it would do some of us(well me!) good to go back to it.

Hello everyone!!!
Hope you're all having a good Bank Hols Monday!

I did remember to weigh myself this morning (I only weigh myself every monday as I find it dis-heartening to do it everyday) and I am back to 70.4kgs, which is 11st1.

Oh well, it had taken me so long to get under 11st but I kind of expected that result as I really ate and drunk so much in France + have been eating some cheese since being back in England.

Anyhoo, I am off into the front yard for a big tidy. I have neglected it all winter and now, it is a thorns, weeds and dead leaves heaven! It'll be a big job but my motivation is it is also good exercise!!! And it will make the front of the house look better of course!!!

st,I hope the garden looks delightful now,you only have 2lbs to get back down to your lower stone group,it will come off easily with all the exercise you do I think. How many muscles can you feel tonight?!LOL.I have put my photo in the HH thread...
I am so jealous as I have gone back to a stone heavier than I was having got to the weight you are now!
I have a month to my friends wedding and would like to get back to that weight...

My back's killing me Saggy!!! But the front yard looks beautiful!!! + Been in garden and planted lots more vegs!
I think I need to have a good yoga practice tonight to stretch my back out.
I would normally be going to yoga on a monday night but as it is Bank Hols, there's no class tonight.

I have the most dreadful craving for chocolate right now tho! Trying to ignore it and having plenty water+ cuppa teas to drink instead.

Off to HH to have a look at piccie!!!

It has been suggested in here in the past that a low cal choc drink can satisfy the choc craving...Sounds like you'll be having lots of lovely veg this summer.Very HER!It also sounds like a hot bath is in order too...
I should be at aquaerobics but it's not on either so enjoying the night off.lol.

Followed your advice Saggy but didn't have any low cal chocolate to drink so I had a proper hot cocoa! I love the ritual of preparing it!
And I have used Splenda in it instead of sugar. And it was most satisfying and got rid of the craving! Thank you!

Have a good HER week everyone!

Well not a very good start to the week as I've had a nightmare day at work!
To give you a bit of background, I'm a floor supervisor (quite new to the job!) at a busy uni library and I supervise a team of 14 shelvers (1 morning team + 1 afternoon team)
We have been so busy today that my feet (and my staff feet for that matter) haven't touched the ground! The books were coming so thick and fast that we were in a lose-lose situation as there was no way we could put everything away! Despite everyone's good and hard work, we finished the day with as many trolleys to shelve as we had started with this morning!!! We all worked so hard but it looks like we have nothing to show for it! But I have told everyone how well and hard they've worked and I'll be bringing them goodies next week to say " well done".

So I am in need of comfort tonight and, as I don't have my own personal Vincent to provide said comfort, the next best things are alcohol and food!!! Diet be damned (pardon my English!! )
I went and bought myself a curry to have later + a bottle of white wine. I've already had one glass while the computer was switching on so any spelling mistake is because I'm drunk. I haven't had any alcohol since coming back from France! So that first glass of wine has gone to my head really quickly! And I intend to finish that bottle before the end of today. So if I don't make much sense later on, you'll know why!

I know it's very naughty, but I feel that's the only way to cope with my day! I feel I should be stronger than that!
But hopefully, things will look up towards the end of the week and I'll be able to get back into HER!

I hope you're all doing well so far! Be strong!

Hello there Blacklace!!
I'm glad you liked the recipes. I've been meaning to post more but have been distracted by life and other random events!!!
Well done on your weight loss! 17lbs lost is great!
Don't beat yourself up when you "fall into the larder" , just pick yourself up, brush yourself off and get back to your HER. You've done great so far and you'll keep on doing great!

blacklace,17lbs is fab...You must feel great.Hmm,if you could see the saggy bits hidden under the clothes you'd know I fit the name better than ever now!lol. But thank you...

I have almost had a better HER day but dinner has let it down and no exercise again tonight but as you say Tamm, tomorrow is another day!
At least I'm keeping the original 4st loss off, even if the 5th stone has sort of gone back on...I aim never ever to regain the 4st,it took so much to shed it to let it go back on!
