Just a bit, yeah!

The judges are getting far too personal for my liking and the goading of Brendan for a reaction by Bruno was pathetic and unprofessional

changed my mind. I think its good that the celebs are taking it seriously enough to really try and learn the dances and look good. Its the competition side thats got too serious and as pretty said, the judges. I'm not a big Brendan fan myself but its wrong for supposed 'judges' to be so obviously biased against him.

I thought Colin Jackson in the audience had the right attitude. He was very unlucky not to win, but was so positive about SCD, and never mind the result.

I have this gut feeling that we aren't going to see Jan on ITT tonight.

I'd be incredibly surprised if she turned up tonight as well. I'm expecting a "can't be with us this evening" comment.

Pulling out would only make her look worse tho wouldn't it?

Mind you just Anton on ITT would be great!!

I've got that same feeling too. it will look considerably worse for her if she doesn't show up & offer an explanation though, for the comments in the results show and for the alleged after show business.

My guess is that Jan really wanted to prove to everyone, especially the judges, that she could be as good as everyone else.

I don't think she was 'desperate to win the competition' - it was obvious that there were better dancers. She tried her best and wanted some recognition for that.

Had Craig given her the mark she thought she deserved she would feel much better even if A&J were voted off that evening. She took Craig's comment very personally.

I do feel very bad for her. She should be proud of what she has achieved, which is remarkable. She tried hard, she did her best, she was voted out. It does not mean she is bad and unworthy in any sense. Whether people (especially the judges) think she is good or not is only their opinion and has nothing to do with her as a person.

True. It's her rather childish, petulant response that says more about her as a person. Compare her exit with that of Spoony, who also worked hard and showed a great deal more talent, and Jan looks utterly ridiculous.

No, but her behaviour afterwards says something about her as a person
I don't feel bad for her, just embarassed

Yes I agree it does look like she is insecure about herself and gets upset because she does not get the recognition or approval she craves.

I just mean that she should not take what people say about her as what she is.

Has anyone been looked over for a promotion when you thought you deserved it? I have. And I know how it feels.

I can't understand what you are trying to say here. Do you mean that Jan deserved to stay in ?

Her behaviour was all the worse, in my opinion, because her children were there.

A little more dignity in defeat was required.

I do know what you mean - but to stretch the analogy a bit, most people here don't think she really deserved that promotion and some of us believe she had already been promoted above her ability.

To stretch the analogy even more ( ), you may think you deserve a promotion but everyone else doesn't agree with you. It doesn't mean that you wouldn't feel equally gutted though, like you would if you genuinely deserved the promotion

Sorry for being confusing! Will try harder...

I was just trying to explain why Jan behaved the way she did. She wanted the recognition from the judges that she was good. And Craig would not give her that (by giving her the same mark as last week even though he said she had improved).

It's all about self esteem. A lot of people don't believe they are good and so constantly looking for reassurance from others that they are good. She wanted a good score, I wanted that promotion...

I am just saying she should believe in herself because what others think of her does not change what is true. That she did her best and it was her best dance. It's not worth getting cut up about what Craig said.

Sorry getting preachy there - just done a self-discovery course am a bit brainwashed...

I think the fact that everyone is treating it like Oscar Night is spoiling the show. As I mentioned on another thread I am convinced this is manufactured by the producers to raise viewing figures as in the X FACTOR they are constantly having fights, hysterics, throwing water over each other, threatening to leave the show and NEVER come back, Louie!! Tellling each other to shut up and I just learn all this from watching This Morning as I have never seen an X Factor show! ! Even Fiona Phillips mentioned the fact that when you are constantly rehearsing, doing SCD you get so involved everything becomes dancing and the show and perhaps Jan has just got things out of perspective.!! I did not hear her say anything dreadful as all I could hear was Bruce talking to her and her initially crying out and then she seemed to pull herself together on camera. What happened afterwards I just have to trust the newspapers!! HOPEFULLY everyone will lighten up a bit and start having a bit of fun and enjoy the competition which we all know is for charity. I had no idea these celebs were so competitive!! God, they all have to be winners!! GET A GRIP

True. Maybe she needs to watch the programmes again. Without her rose-tinted glasses on.

No when I said promotion I meant recognition and approval from others. In her case she wanted a good score from Craig.

That's alright, maybe Jan should have joined you
About her low self esteem, I honestly believe she doesn't suffer from that, more the opposite. If she craves praise like that, she is mre of a diva IMO

You're probably right. On the other hand, Peter probably felt he deserved more than two points from Craig last week for his effort. He didn't throw his teddy out of the pram, though.
