I wasn't surprised but disappointed to hear him blame what he said last week on the scores. If they had done a very good dance he might have had a case but, as it was, it was poor and he should have buttoned it and accepted the score.

He's not the only one to blame but I can't help thinking that if he had gone out 2nd or 3rd week none of this 'controversy' would exist, certainly not to the extent we have now.”

You do realise that Brendan and Claire's dance routine was changed drastically at the last minute because the "Powers that be" thought it to be too too raunchy - of course they are never to going to admit to that nor that the judges knew about this and should have taken it into account somewhere along the line.

The histrionics, tension, personality clashes, eye candy and of course the dancing. I think it's just great.

I even watched the highlights programme last night for the first time.

Our dance lessons each Tuesday have certainly been influenced more by this series.

Well done BBC and what a slick job they did with the Karen & Mark incident.

Brendan didn't actually do much apart from walk away after he got his results.... Why is he being a petunlant child... If he had stood there and had a go he would be in the wrong and he's told us enough that he wears his heart on his sleeve... I think he behaved really well, if he felt he was hard done by that's what he felt the fact he didn't go on about it was pretty responsible...

Then again I didn't hear what he said on the results show so he might have complained lol...

Personally I think the floor manager who came on to rescue them should have been marked for dancing with Bruce!

I took umbrage to the fact that when asked about the comments he and Claire had gotten he immediately said 'well I think they're something to do with last week'. In my mind that was nonsense - the judges comments about their dance was spot and many seemed to have come to the same conclusions. To basically say 'oh they're just picking on us because of last week' was stupid and did irritate me. If they'd done a better dance he might have a case but as it was the comments were utterly fair.

Agreed. Let's all come together, have fun and enjoy the whole SCD experience.

It is so dramatic this year isn't it? Maybe its beause its longer and there are more people? Also, it has been running for several years now so people and the dancers know how it works! They might be getting a bit fed up with the judges by now? Who knows but its all a bit heated this year round!

Yes it is getting all a little bit too much at times, I wish they'd get on with it and just dance enough of this silly controversy its getting old and frankly distracts from the dancing.

There are two non-contradictory possibilities .

1. The show is being made more dramatic to get ratings.

2. The voters are causing all this. If they move people from last to fifth and fifth to last the judges have to act to try and make sure the good people stay. That in turn makes more people vote for the ones the judges dislike which forces the judges to mark accordingly. That in turn makes people like Brendan - who hasn't got a top 5 partner- play up more as he knows that will get him more votes. And at that point i wouldn't be surprised if the judges and producers are happy because the badder brendan is the more protest votes he attracts which makes it less likely that those votes will go to saving the worst dancers that week.

More drama, higher ratings and possibly a way at last of avoiding the consequences of the public voting against the judges.Expect more of the same.

On the show last night Claudia mentioned that this program has had more publicity than any other – and gave a sample of newspaper headlines. To be fair to Brendon it wasn't just about him. The BBC is obviously enjoying this fact – otherwise they wouldn’t be encouraging it and as the poster above said - more drama = higher ratings.

I believe that Bruno's comments were about last week and that's probably what upset him...

It can only be a matter of time before they ask what is meant by "dirty" or "horny".

I don't mind a few innuendos but it's non-stop whenever Brendan and Claire appear (not that I'm blaming them).”

Is it just me or does Arlene constantly witter on about how they all need to be sexy, horny, sensual etc with all the Latin stuff. She's a bit of a voyeur, I think she would like to see the celebs and their partners 'get it on' to music, right there on the dance floor. Louisa and Vincent got slated this week for not being horny enough ( Craig talked about energy and fire which I take to be 2 different things) and she wanted to see 'more' from Vincent - perhaps she's getting hot under the collar for him now - Matt D constantly gets comments re the same thing.

She would definitely have the trousers right off of both Mark and Brendan. Someone needs to give the women a dose of Bromine..............

Mark and Karen seem to be doing well with a good energetic routine and no need for them to get 'jiggy' so it can be done.

Can we please stick to the routines and enjoy the dancing and get Arlene put down, alternatively we could get a fund going to raise money to get her a night with a porn star and then she might quieten down........we can but hope.

I think arlene just wants to see the celebs shed the ego and let rip on the floor. Latin is meant to be sexy...you see professionals wearing next to nothing for a reason!
It looks worse when you hold back so you might as well go for it. And it's sexy not sleazy that they want. I can't stand arlene but I think she is quite misunderstood!

yeah misunderstood...doesn't think before she speaks syndrome. I find she's quite passionate in her convictions but the manner in which she expresses herself and her shrill voice probably doesn't help get her point across. I don't have to agree with her but I can at least respect her opinion.

Virtually no TV show these days relies on just content. Producers seem compelled to put in some gimmick, controversy or lowest denominator. Just get on with it.

I have a major problem with bouncey, out of focus, zoomy, flicking between peoples faces camera work, snazzy graphics and news presenters always standing up and walking around(I never watch TV news these days): if you need to jazz up a programme with these gimmicks DON'T make the programme because the content is obviously not considered strong enough to stand on it's own.
