It could be me but....

I always thought the couples that are staying in the contest were anounced in a random order but the same names seem to be coming out in the same places - eg Claire and Brendan were anounced before last two every week and Peter and Erin always seem to be down the bottom

As I said it could just be me

There's the old chestnut that the couple on the left of the screen always goes.

Keep meaning to re-watch last year to see - but I know Darren was on the left in the final and actually won.

I'd guess, if the order isn't honestly random, that they do it in some sort of maximum suspense order. So those who had controversial marks or scored low with the judges but are popular with the public are last.

Don't know though.

My guess is that the announcements are actually made in a semi-random order. So, taking this week as an example, the 3 couples with the lowest judges marks out of the 6 definitely staying will be randomised and announced after the 3 couples (also randomised) with the highest judges marks of the 6 definitely staying. In this way, couples who might be expected to be in the bottom 2 but aren't will tend to be announced later so as to create 'tension'.

Something like that anyway.

That.... and the fact that they always leave Brendan to the end just to heighten the tension even further for folk like musicangel

Yeah I think they do it to create tension! Those who are more likely to go are left further down the list. They're unlikely to leave the people at the top of the leader board right til the end! They never have!

i don't think the results are read out in a very random order as the people you expect to stay in e.g. emma and mark are always announced near the beginnign whereas those who you are more unsure of like peter and claire are always announced later. this is probably there idea of adding tension.

also the person on the left always seems rto go except in the final where the one on the left wins.

Someone on another thread suggested it went 3rd, 2nd, 1st, 4th, 5th,6th etc and when I've watched the last couple of weeks you could se ehow it *could* go like that!
Oh and it does always seem to be the couple on the left that goes.
Do they always stand inthe same places each week?
