portable/personal DAB radios?

Is there such a thing? I would love to be able to listen to the radio on my train journey into work but in the past the reception has always been so terrible that this has been impossible.

Has technology moved on enough to make this a possibility yet?

Yep, there are several models available at Argos.

Still not sure DAB reception would be any good though.. I have not met anyone that has used one of these on a train or in a car etc (i.e. Moving!)

I have one, and they are a LOT better for moving about than cheap FM ones (though more expensive FM ones can be good too). You don't have to retune the DAB radio when you move around, so it's really convenient too. The one I have is this Bush model, it's among the cheapest but does the job very well:

Thanks all

It's important for me that it will work on a train - Do you use the Bush one on the train Joshua? is the reception OK

The saddest thing is that the main reason I want this is so I can listen to Terry Wogan in the morning!

I have indeed used it on the train and it tends to fair considerably better than FM in enclosed spaces, though bear in mind that going through tunnels etc. always cuts out a broadcast signal. You will probably get the best signal if you choose a window seat. If you are mainly listening to Radio 2 or other BBC National stations, their signals are stronger than most so you are likely to have better luck there. I'm not saying it will be perfect, but not having to re-tune on long train journeys is a major plus.

Just noticed that the Bush one is out of stock at Tesco but available at Argos, via Dancc's link.
