Help with fixing 6 changer cd player in Hi Fi
I have a Kenwood Hi Fi with a 6 changer cd player. Unfortunately, it is not working at the moment. It loads the cds ok, but then cant find them to play them???
Anybody any ideas as to how best repair this problem withot having to take it to a dealer to fix. Thanks Popjoc....

If it loads up the disk but then doesn't recognise that there is a disk present, it's probably the laser. It's the most common fault with CD players of all types. Not really a DIY job to replace it. There is a tiny chance that it's just dirty. You can try cleaning the lens with a cotton bud but be VERY gentle, otherwise you will damage the mounting.

My dad had this exact problem with a Kenwood 6 disc changer a few months ago and yes it did turn out to be the laser, he went and bought a new system and the old one is in the bin now.
